I turned 35 today
I guess I am embarking on middle age. It's funny, though. I don't feel much different on the inside than I did when I was 18, aside from being a little wiser. I still feel pretty good physically as well.

I've often heard people say that age is subjective when it comes to your interior world. I've often run across older people who sound much younger than their chronological age. I've also run across 16 year olds who sound like they have the life experience of someone 20 years older. A few of them post here.

All that said, I still wish I could live forever. Getting older isn't much fun for me now days. I have a friend who is the same age as me and I've known him for 20 years. He took to wearing a hat all the time and I wondered why. The other day I saw him without the hat and he is going bald. It was a very poignant moment for me. I guess the fact that we are really 35 now sunk in then. We still talk to each other like we did when we were teenagers. :)

2. Well happy birthday!
My closest friend is 35; I don't think of her as "middle-aged". That's just a concept I think I'll choose to ignore!

5. Happy Birthday
As far as I'm concerned 35 is entering adulthood.

Don't let the number rule you. My mom, at 73 is more vital and active than my sister-in-law, who is 50.

At 43, I am more active, more fit, and younger looking than I was at 35.

Enjoy your day.

6. I am not middle aged.
I am 35 and am not middle aged. I try not to think in the term of age. Since I have always been told I seem older than I really am. So you are not middle aged cuse if you are middle aged then that means I am and I say HELL NO!

Oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! OLD MAN!!! :P

14. Hahaha
I've been told that I write a little older than my age. I guess maybe I'm one of those people whose interior age is older than their physical one. I've been through a lot of shit in my life and maybe it has aged me more so than someone else my age who has had a kinder existence so far.

23. Happy birthday. :)
Yeah, I've run across some who seem older or younger than they are... back when I was 19, I dated a 16 year old who was mature enough for me. When we broke up, I dated a 20 year old... who wasn't mature enough for me, so that only lasted about 2 weeks before I called it off. :P

And age is indeed just a number. I am a few years older than you, 38 and one of my good friends is about 20 years OLDER than me but acts my age or younger and another friend is about 20 years younger than me but whose life experiences make him seem older than me!:)

28. Well, then according to my mother you'd be 53
One of the harzards of growing up as an English teacher's daughter; according to her the only ages one can 'turn' are 11, 22, 33, 55, 66, 77, 88, 99, etc.

Her pickiness notwithstanding, I still say Happy Birthday! And you're a young 'un as far as I -- from the old age of 47 -- am concerned.
