Sorry, just have to vent. I want to shake the shit out of my idiot upstairs neighbor!

At the beginning of summer, a cutie black cat with a squirrel-like tail came up to me as I was going in the apartment. My ditzy neighbor came over from her car and apologized for her cat bothering me, but I answered that I love cats and there was no way he could bother me, but I lectured her on keeping him indoor only, because of all the cars that race through here, and the racoons that come by at night. I stressed the point several times to her. It was odd that she was letting him out, anyway, as she has been here for a year, and didn't start letting him out until then. She seemed to agree, but let him out later, anyway.

So I've been seeing him all summer, jumping on my windowsill, scampering about day and night, including just yesterday. That cat was such a doll.

My neighbor just came up to me at the mailbox to tell me she had to put him to sleep because he got his spine broken by being hit by a car. She didn't seem horribly upset. She also said that she has another cat she's been hiding upstairs (we are only allowed one, here). I lectured her again about keeping that one indoor-only, but she said dismissively, "oh, but I can't do that if he wants out."
