Just finished watching Jaws 2 on Cinemax.

Of course the original Jaws was great, but the teenagers in this sequel were so fucking annoying I was rooting for the shark. Jaws 3 and 4 are on next; I think I'll pass.

1. Jaws 4 was a complete joke. Did you catch the scene where the camera

went underneath the shark while it was swimming, and you could see the split down the middle of the robotic shark? I don't know what those people were thinking, but just awful

8. I always felt terrible for poor Lorraine Gary

She looked so awful in that movie they actually had to comment on it in a scene where Michael Caine kisses her.

2. Let's see: Scheider/Shaw/Dreyfuss or the teenybopper brigade?

It's like comparing the casts of ALIEN and ALIEN: RESURRECTION. Pretty stark difference.

For what it's worth though, the returning JAWS actors almost made the movie watchable.

4. No Quint, no Hooper, no Jaws

Quint: (seeing Hooper's equipment) What are you? Some kind of half-assed astronaut?
(examining the shark cage)
Quint: Jesus H Christ, when I was a boy, every little squirt wanted to be a harpooner or a sword fisherman. What d'ya have there - a portable shower or a monkey cage?
Hooper: Anti-Shark cage.
Quint: Anti-shark cage. You go inside the cage?
(Hooper nods)
Quint: Cage goes in the water, you go in the water. Shark's in the water. Our shark.
(sings)
Quint: Farewell and adieu to you, fair Spanish ladies. Farewell and adieu, you ladies of Spain. For we've received orders for to sail back to Boston. And so nevermore shall we see you again.

5. A good rule to live by

I seriously believe JAWS is among the ten greatest American films ever made. As perfect as THE GODFATHER and VERTIGO.

i mean it should be voted as worst movie sequal of all time... or at least make the top 10 list....
