A radio-show just asked me to apply for a job as Assistant Producer
Edited on Wed Jan-28-04 01:12 PM by brainshrub
I am so happy that I'm dancing around my house. I'm about to reply with this email...does it sound good? I REALLY want this job.

Here it is:

Thank-you for considering me for the position of Assistant Producer. I am passionate about progressive politics, I love radio and I am a voracious reader.

My qualifications closely match your needs:

* I have an Associates Degree in Journalism.
* I have a B.S. degree in Telecommunications Management. While at college, I worked with several commercial radio & television stations as Assistant Producer and media representative.
* I was an intern to State-Representative Casey in Florida in 1994. This job instilled in me a love for the political process and taught me to appreciate the power of Democracy to improve peoples lives.
* I am the editor & webmaster for Brainshrub's Morning News Scan. This news-summary service has sharpened my skills as a media researcher and analyst. (www.brainshrub.com)

More of my job experience can be found here: http://www.brainshrub.com/Resume.htm

As this email indicates, I am a dedicated professional with the skills and experience necessary to be an assistant producer for a program like The #### ######## Show. I am available to discuss this position; please call me at (###) ###-####.

1. Brainshrub - summary is spelled s-u-m-m-a-r-y, not as in summery.

Don't wanna have any mistakes in your reply... Might look bad.

Good luck, dude!

3. If they asked...

Why not just send them a copy of your resume? In their position, I would be offended if you made me go look for it.

On edit: Almost forgot...

CONGRATS!!!

4. I thought it was bad netiquette to send file attachments.
I know I wouldn't open a document.

Plus, it's not like it's a huge effort to click on the link and the resume looks better on my site than as a text email.

But if you think I should email an attachment I'll consider it.

6. If you save it as an rtf file...
there's no chance of a virus. Plus, they should be expecting it, since you're discussing a job.
