I got two: Jean ValJean and Atticus Finch. Both are patient, wise, soul-searching, and peace loving, tolerant of their enemies while understanding when to make a stand against them.

Bonus points if you can name a politician--past our present--who comes close to your pick. For mine, Jimmy Carter.

Go.

6. Hazel from Watership Down
Resourceful, courageous, willing to lead by example. Honest, respected and fair. What's not to like?

And no, I can't think of a politician who comes close.
