9. Its A Gas
Edited on Mon Aug-20-07 06:12 PM by Parche
I always thought it was because of the Refinery shortage, because you know they havnt built a new one in years.....and because Anwar is not in production, and because its always high in the Summer time, just because, and the biggest reason is the mating habits of the Rat Tailed Maggot Fly.

4. I wish I had filled up this morning
:(

Gas always goes up here on Thursday morning and it drops on Monday. I didn't factor in the hurricane.

6. Um, oil prices went down by a $1 a barrel today.
Looks like Dean is missing the oil platforms and refineries in the Gulf of Mexico.

As for why prices are going up...

10. Gee, if only we had some warning that gas prices were volatile
Oh wait, the first gas price crisis was over 30 years ago. People have had that long to plan accordingly. Some folks choose to live close to where they work and shop.

Some folks choose to live far away from those things.

They have the right to make that choice but I don't have much sympathy for them when it comes back and bites them on the ass.

It would be like me complaining about a hangover after drinking a case of beer. Gee, if only I had some warning that there would be consequences for the choices that I made.

If only.

12. If only you worked at a facility that was 30 miles away from the nearest town...
I'd love to live closer to work. Not my fault the built the base in the middle of nowhere.

I make too little to afford a place near where I work. Not having a car and not driving is not an option. I have so little disposable income to work with that 35 cents a gallon is a big deal.

I also have had asthma since infancy and cycling isn't an option either. Oh wait, it *is* my fault and I'm a weak person. Silly me...

Then YOU would be able to buy me one of those $500,000 homes within walking distance of our jobs.

We couldn't afford to buy a house closer to the city, and I have MS, making cycling approximately 20 miles a complete non-option. Especially in 102 degrees.

What now, Mr. Know-It-All? We have had one Honda Civic for 7 years of our marriage, and have carpooled everywhere. We only bought a 2nd vehicle last Friday because I am moving to Milwaukee while he stays here for awhile to sell our house.

Take your smug superiority and please stuff it. Not everyone can be as liberally perfect as you.

15. Funny though that none of our oil rigs are in the path
and none of our refineries are threatened

(I am just assuming that the rigs they evacuated in the Bay of Campeche were Mexican and not American- I might be wrong)

Haven't heard anything yet about ours in the Gulf.

19. they're fucking with us just because they can
there's no other logical explanation to the random way gas keeps jumping and dropping. Fucking with our brains and slowly easing us into not rioting in the streets when gas hits 5 bucks a gallon
