Some thoughts in my last week in London...
Edited on Fri Aug-03-07 11:41 AM by JonathanChance
1. Gordon Brown needs to wear a kilt more often.

2. Mock the Week is some of the funniest TV I've ever seen.

3. I love a country that has no qualms about airing HBO's Rome uncut on over-the-air TV.

4. Speaker's Corner is a fun place to spend a Sunday. If only the Religious Loonies of all stripes would just fuck off and leave the corner to political speakers and general loonies.

5. Nice to see the the Royal Navy's going to finally have proper aircraft carriers once again. Granted, I'm no hawk, but coming form an area of Wisconsin where a there's a factory that builds smaller ships for the Navy and Coast Guard, I know that 39,000 good paying jobs in Portsmouth and up in Scotland is nothing to sneeze at.

6. Spitfire Ale is the best beer ever. I must endeavour to find a way to get it in the SStates

7. I will miss Crunchie Bars, Chicken flavoured crisps, Steak and onion flavoured crisps, Baked Beans in a tomato sauce, and Irn-Bru. (the stuff from Canada is no proper substitute, It has no Caffiene.)

8. I will not miss tinned hot dogs. There's a reason you can't find these in the States anymore.

9. I may not agree with his sentiments on Climate Change, andhis politics, but Jeremy Clarkson is one funny Bloke.

10. I don't see why Indian food hasn't caught on in the States yet.

11. My heart goes out to the Meople of Minneapolis this week. Even if you are all a bunch of Viking-Rooting bastards.

12. Fuck the Chicago Cubs. I hope they have a 15 game Losing Streak!

13. I have picked a team to root for in the Premiership. I now consider myself an Arsenal Supporter! Fuck Man U, Fuck Chelsea, and Fuck the Spurs!

14. It's nice to see so many people here who know that climate change is a serious issue.

15. I like the fact that I can go up and down the AM dial and not hear O'Reilly, Limbaugh, becjk, or any other arseholes.

16. I had a dream a couple of nights ago where Prominent MPs were acting ou scenes form Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail. Featuring Gordon Brown as Tim the Enchanter, and David Cameron as Sir Robin.

17. I think the fact that there peoiple named Balls and Darling on the Cabinet prove that Gordon Brown has a sense of Humour.

2. Mock the Week is some of the funniest TV I've ever seen.

Not a patch on "Have i got news for You" if you ask me, plus Frankie Boyle is really unfunny and shouldn't be let anywhere near a comedy programme IMHO!

6. Spitfire Ale is the best beer ever. I must endeavour to find a way to get it in the States

Spitfire's OK, personally I prefer Fat Cat Honey Ale, but then again that's only available from 4 pubs in East Anglia. If you want quality ale then there's always the Great British Beer Festival @ Earls Court next week (which I usually attend!)

I'd have to agree about the Irn-Bru. I'd also have to agree about the frankfurters too quite frankly!

13. I have picked a team to root for in the Premiership. I now consider myself an Arsenal Supporter!

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Even after our ground went underwater this summer I was still much happier with the Wednesday then A*****l, or any other football team for that matter. Myself I quite like West Ham now they've shafted the Blades!

17. I think the fact that there people named Balls and Darling on the Cabinet prove that Gordon Brown has a sense of Humour.

My Dad was in the navy with someone called Balls. Apparently the whole regiment used to call out "AND THE SAME TO YOU!" whenever his name was called out at rollcall.

Hope you enjoyed your time in London, in spite of the awful weather! :-)

3. Argh! You're my sworn enemy now!

I like SUFC!! :P They got done wrong. I always root for the underdog. That, and a certain blonde-headed, green-eyed famous fan. :D

7. They won't be underdogs this season!
And beside's, thanks to former manager Colin Wanker (it's an anagram we Wednesdayites use for him as it's more then apt) and his incessant moaning everyone else has it in for them too.

And no they didn't get "done wrong", they screwed up against 10 man Wigan on the last day and ultimatly, if you don't get the results you go down. No use blaming the Hammers when your own team can't win.
