Answer the phone!!!
The phone is ringing off the hook tonight, which I don't like, and the one person I *want* to call isn't calling because she hasn't any idea about phone ettiquite.

Would one of you please hold my calls and take messages the rest of the night. However, if a nice young woman with a lovely voice calls, put her through, eh?

1. Here's an idea
You could call the nice young woman with the lovely voice. hat way your phone would be busy when other people try to call, AND you'd get to have the conversation you *want* to be having.

just a thought :)

She didn't answer. Suffice to say it's a complicated situation :(

3. Ah.
Not really surprising, since you are a DUER, after all - you must be reasonably smart. :)

I say try again when it's about 3:00 AM wherever she is.

4. I've toyed with that idea
"Huh... whahhh..."
"Hi. I thought you'd be home! I'm sitting here eating some peanut butter and crackers and I thought I'd give you a call... you free tomorrow?"

Plus I doubt the other people in the house would appreciate that.

5. ooh you're already lost
sorry.

"... you free tomorrow?" You can't wait that late to be asking that type question. You'll have to change it to, "...you free next Saturday?" Or even better, "...Would you like to <have something specific planned> with me next Saturday."

6. This is no ordinary girl
Her schedule is so subject to change that planning anything more than 48 hours in advance is pointless. In my experience, the only way to do anything is to plan it the day before. On the rare occasion I do get her on the phone, I just ask if she's available that evening or the next day. Otherwise it's just a waste of breath. OTOH, sometimes we talk on the phone for hours at a time, which is nice.

7. Okay, well good luck!
I hope you have a great weekend, whether you spend time with her (on or off the phone) or not.
