Well, it took me AND NoelMN, a pair of scissors,
and me restraining his body and arms with my legs while NoelMN held his head still, but I finally cut Jack's hair. He growled loudly, flailed around and yelled like crazy. I was sweating by the time we got done. That kid is a menace (but now he can see, at least).

Before (ignore dorky me- I'm posing for SophieMN):

After: (yeah, I know, it's not the best cut, but it's a miracle that I got ANY off!:

We were trying to bribe him to hold still with the chips. It didn't work very well...

2. Two words:
Buzz cut!
I kid. JackMN's hair is too cute to cut it all off.

4. Don't think I haven't been tempted!
He has an aversion to people touching his head (it's a sensory thing) so cutting his hair is a nightmare! I hope it grows reeeeal slowly!

11. Maybe . . .
My niece (13) and nephew (15) are coming for two weeks on July 17. They're staying with my parents and I'm looking forward to spending time with them there AND with them elsewhere and hoping I can get to know them better. I haven't gotten to spend much time with them since they were adoring little kids. I have always been able to provide them with entertainment they don't get elsewhere, like vists to a haunted bridge, the vampire mausoleum in Hollywood cemetery, Hot Doughnuts Now at the KK, etc. This time I'm thinking a whitewater tubing trip down the James. MY MOTHER MUST NOT GET WIND OF THIS PLAN!

My favorite quote ever from my niece was years ago when I heard her explaining to her older brother: Two men could get married, but one of them would have to be gay.

I think we're going to have a good time.

16. You sound like the best uncle ever!
MY uncle? Passed gas into a tupperware container and wrapped it up as a Christmas present for me, one year.

As revenge, I baked him some of his favorite cookies, and put a ton of nasty spices in them. He sat and ate them all, just so he could "win." Now he gets to torture my kids.

30. Oooh.
My brother made sugar cookies once and (accidentally) rolled every single ball of dough in salt instead of sugar.

Not even your uncle could have choked one of those down. There was nothing anybody could do. The situation was so sad I don't think I even mocked him.

9. I feel so lucky that my kid never had any issues w/ shampoos or haircuts
then again, those issues probably would have been easier to deal with than the ones I'm dealing with now.

The pod person? Straight hair. It grows like crazy.

Cute kids, cute SO, what's with this guy? Like a guy with a hot fudge sundae but won't eat it: wants cake instead.

He better have more going than a cute butt, sis.

20. does his hair grow fast?
It just seems like the kids who HATE getting their hair cut have hair that grows at a much faster rate for the sole purpose of giving parents a headache. ;) Is it possible to cut it when he's sleeping? When my daughter was younger (and more wiggly) I would sometimes sneak in a bangs trim when she asleep.
Your son is adorable btw!

21. It seems to. I've cut his bangs while he was asleep.
The back and the sides are a bit trickier! He starts summer special-ed preschool tomorrow and I promised myself he'd be shorn before he went!
