I just cracked up calling the "Sunsetter" commercial phone #
I don't know, maybe I'm not seeing it correctly or making a big deal over nothing. But the Sunsetter retractable awning commercials show a patio, the chairs, the table, the pitcher of iced tea, with the much vaunted SHADE falling ONLY on the wall of the house, with all the props OUT IN THE BLAZING SUN!!1

Even when the actors sit down in the chairs, only their faces are shaded, while their bodies and the ever present pitcher of tea are in full sun!!1

I *know* that the operators at the 800 sales numbers are only operators, that they have no control over the products or the advertising, but after seeing the commercials for the umpteenth time I was impelled to call.

The woman who answered was very bright and non-scripted. I asked whether she has seen the commercials. She sounded interested and said, "Some of them...?" I asked whether she noticed that the camera angle and the angle of the sun when they were filmed (IF it was sunlight at all) sort of defeat the purpose of the product by showing the action area of the props in FULL SUN. She laughed and said nobody's ever said that and that she would have to look for that the next time. I cracked up, and then so did she.

After all, the pitcher of iced tea needs the light to shine through it for gemlike best advantage!!1

1. Otoh, the commercial for Skittles (not OUR Skittles)
is fairly shocking. A guy approaches the other guy and asks, "Why is the milk sour?" And the 2nd guy is sitting up on a stool, hooked up to a milking machine, with the hoses and stuff looking like they're hooked up to all the inappropriate places. It makes you look!!1

"Since the Model 900XT can be mounted as low as 6ft. 8in. from your deck or patio surface, it’s ideal for “Ranch” type houses with low eves."
