1. If you like Indian food, I recommend Moti Mahal.
It's on W. Belmont in Wrigleyville. Not fancy, but yummy.

As for Second City, I'm not your guy, but if I remember correctly there are a million places to eat and drink around there. It's been a while since I've been in Chicago.

9. For Indian food, the best place to go is Devon & Western. There are several
south Indian restaurants that are strictly veggie, and many others that have lots of vegetarian options. Udupi Palace is fantastic for south Indian.

8. Great place - they have a nice cookbook too.
We made their vegan burgers last night (the recipe is in the latest issue of Vegetarian Times). They were good. :9

10. For breakfast and lunch, Victory's Banner in Roscoe Village is out of this world.
It's near Damen and Roscoe (on Roscoe) and the food is so delicious. YUM!

Andie's and Icosium Cafe in Andersonville (both on Clark St. just north of Foster) both have a huge number of vegetarian options on their menu and they are both delicious.

13. For a little more upscale meal, try Green Zebra. It is **AMAZING**. I've eaten there
Edited on Mon Jun-25-07 01:54 PM by grace0418
four times now and it's one of my favorite special occasion restaurants. It's not outrageously expensive, either, just more than an average burger joint.

I wanted to add than I'm not even a vegetarian but this place is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. I've been there with vegetarians and omnivores alike, and they've all loved it.

27. It truly is. My friend is a chef trained at the Culinary Institute of America in NY
and he said his meals at Green Zebra and Spring were some of the best he's had. And he's been all over the country.

22. you gotta go on the northside where they have the yupzones
for strictly vegetarian stuff (i think this is still the case).

they have a decent-sized whole foods near ashland and lincoln that has vegetarian deli selections in their deli area.

16. Spring on Division very veggie friendly
Lula on Kedzie also.

As for the Chicago Diner, I think it has seen better days. I refuse to go there now. Too many bland and dull meals.

excellent. Shawn Maclean ROCKS.
