1. That photo doesn't do it justice - it's really a nice piece of art

2. It's aesthetically pleasing and functional
I just wish I had the money to spare.

3. You can build a pot still for almost nothing....
but it won't possess any of the aesthetically pleasing charm that that one has.

We built a Grappa still from a beer keg; it processes a quart an hour. It didn't cost a nickel to build, but it took some time to acquire the needed items: A beer keg with top cut off, a giant wok, propane burner, large supply of ice, rabbit watering dish, two bricks, and a ready supply of 'less then sterling' wine.

Grappa distillers value functionality over pleasing aesthetics every time. ;)

4. When I was in high school a couple of guys and I...
... made one out of an old tea kettle, a cork, a radio antenna, some tubing, an old tupperware bowl full of ice, and a stove top. We made our mash out of yeast, lemonade, and orange peels. After one hit of our shine I seriously thought I was going to die.

I'm sure that if I had a still as sweet as that one though I could make shine that wouldn't make feel like I was dying.

5. Be still my heart!
Or at least, be still my still!
