Post your favorite Monk line/scene here
This one reminded me of DU: Monk deduces that the circus performer is about to take her naturalization test and she asks how he knew. Monk points to the pamphlet in her purse and says, "Because you're studying the U.S. Constitution and that's something no U.S. citizen would ever do."

P.S. Series begins tonight and it looks like USA is running old shows all afternoon.

1. MONK!
GAWD I love that show.

It's hard to pick a favorite. One is the chess scene where Sharona licks the queen to keep Adrian away from it. "You can't lick your queen. It's an unwritten rule."

2. That one will be a classic.
I thought one of the best put-together shows was the one with Willie Nelson. Lots of side-plots (i.e. streaker) that all tied together at the end. My other favorite was the one with Alan Arkin. He almost stole the show!

3. I didn't see that one!
I can't imagine how great a show w/ Tony Shaloub & Alan Arkin would be. What a match.

5. That one had important information.
Alan Arkin is an obese, powerful, genius who is bedridden and he controls everything and everybody by watching television and through phone calls. We find out that he was the reason that Monk's wife lost her job, which contributed to the events which resulted in her death.

10. It's one of the best episodes.
"Mr. Monk Meets Dale The Whale." It is reported that Arkin will reprise the character this season.

:hi: Hi Bertha!

8. Great line in the Willie Nelson episode.
Edited on Fri Jan-16-04 04:18 PM by mac56
Monk and Sharona visit Willie in his tour bus. Monk sniffs and asks, "What is that smell?" Willie grins and replies, "I don't smell anything...and neither do you."

7. "we're working on the milk"
Follow-up to the observation that Monk is afraid of germs, the outdoors, heights, etc. etc. -- "and milk".

9. "I don't mind change. I just don't want to be there when it happens."
And, does anyone remember a scene wherein the captain says to Monk, "This must be your worst fear," and Monk starts categorizing his fears in order worst to least? I thought that was hilarious.

I love that show!
