What's your favorite pissed-off breakup song?
You know the song--the one that you listened to over and over after the bitter breakup. The one that perfectly matched your sentiments at the time. The song you wished you could sing to or share with your jilter.

Please post the lyrics or youtube link on this thread, and share a few thoughts about why the song had special meaning for you at the time.

1. "Song for the Dumped" -- Ben Folds Five
1! 2! 3! 4!
so, you wanted
to take a break
slow it down some
and have some space
well, fuck you too!

give me my money back
give me my money back, you bitch
I want my money back
and don't forget
and don't forget
to give me back my black t-shirt

I wish I hadn't
bought you dinner
right before you
dumped me on your front porch

give me my money back
give me my money back, you bitch
I want my money back
and don't forget
and don't forget
to give me back my black t-shirt
hey, hey!

so, you wanted
to take a break
slow it down some
and have some space

give me my money back
give me my money back, you bitch
I want my money back
I want my money back
and don't forget

/ It's the tune I played when I separated from my ex-wife
// and interestingly enough, she got the CD in the split
/// but I bought it again, and got the new version with the bonus tracks
//// VERY glad she's gone, BTW

3. Nice. Harsh. I like it.
Your dilemma sort of reminds me of the They Might Be Giants song, "Twistin'":

She set your goldfish free
And now she's sighing
Blew out your pilot light
And made a wish
She doesn't have to have
Her dB's records back now
But there's not a lot of things that
She'll take back
(She wants) She wants to see you again
(She wants) She wants to see you again
Slowly twistin' (Twistin'! )
In the wind
(Twistin'!) Twistin' twistin' (Twistin'! )
In the wind
She's not your satellite
She doesn't miss you
So turn off your smoke machine
And Marshall stack
She doesn't have to have
Her Primus tape back now
But there's not a lot of things
That she'll take back
(She wants) She wants to see you again
(She wants) She wants to see you again
Slowly twistin' (Twistin'! )
In the wind
(Twistin'!) Twistin' twistin' (Twistin'! )
In the wind

AHHHHHHH!!!!!!
(She wants) She wants to see you again
(She wants) She wants to see you again
Slowly twistin' (Twistin'! )
In the wind
(Twistin'!) Twistin' twistin' (Twistin'! )
In the wind

(just in the sense that there is recorded music involved in the split)

131. I lost a Spinal Tap "Break Like the Wind" t-shirt in one breakup
I went to the show on that tour and lent the shirt to my then-girlfriend. Unfortunately I forgot to get it back when we split (I also lost my CD copy of "Meat Is Murder" by the Smiths).

What did I get? A cassette of "Badmotorfinger" by Soundgarden. Definitely not a fair trade. I'm still smarting over that one, and it was back in 1992.

2. One of my favorites: "Salt in My Tears"
THE SALT IN MY TEARS
Martin Briley

I never did it
No I won't admit it
Why should I lie for you anymore
You never loved me
You pushed and you shoved me
I ee the woman I never saw
I saw you laugh when the knife was twisted
It still hurts but the pain has shifted
I'm looking back at the time that drifted by
But I won't cry for the wasted years
'Cos you ain't worth the salt in my tears

Feeling neglected
Used and rejected
You need a shoulder to lean upon
Maybe you've picked him
Found your next victim
Don't worry someone will come along
I broke the spell that you kept me under
I'd had enough of the rain and thunder
I lost track of the time and I wonder why
But I won't cry for the wasted years
'Cos you ain't worth the salt in my tears

I'll sit around and drink a few more beers
Until the memory just disappears
'Cos you ain't worth the salt in my tears

We've all felt the pain of wondering about the "wasted years"

4. Also: "Don't Shed a Tear" by Paul Carrack
Hopelessly 80s, I know, but the sentiment is there:

Cab fare to nowhere is what you are
A white line to an exit sign is what you are
All that I saw in you, now I see through

Don't shed a tear for me, my life won't end without you
Long as the night will be, the sun will rise without you
A locked door on a candy store is what you are
A slim chance in tight pants is what you are

All that I loved you for, I want it more
Don't shed a tear for me, my life won't end without you
Long as the night will be, the sun will rise without you

You ain't giving what I'm not taking
I'm not missing what we ain't making
All that I saw in you, now I see through

Don't shed a tear for me, my life won't end without you
Long as the night will be, the sun will rise without you
Don't shed a tear for me, my life won't end without you
Long as the night will be, the sun will rise without you

Don't shed no tears,
I don't need a thing.

this is the ultimate...it is one side of the album, right?

Time, time and again
I've seen you starin' out at me.
Now, then and again, I wonder
What it is that you see
With those Angry Eyes.
Well, I bet you wish you could
Cut me down with those Angry Eyes...
You want to believe that
I am not the same as you.
I can't concieve, oh no,
What it is you're tryin' to do
What a shot you could be if
You could shoot at me
With those Angry Eyes...
You tried to defend that
You are not the one to blame.
But I'm finding it hard, my friend,
When I'm in the deadly aim
Of those Angry Eyes.
What a shot you could be
If you could shoot at me
With those Angry Eyes...
You have never stopped to realize
Blindness binds us together in the foster skies.
Can you see me through those Angry Eyes?

can't find a version on youtube, try a sample of their other stuff:

7. Alejandro Escovedo's Crooked Frame
I don't associate it with anyone in particular, I just think it's an amazing bit of lyric writing, catchy too

I'm glad you didn't stick
To my fingers like a tremble
A wasted fortune spent
On things we never felt inside
I count the footsteps
That take me away from you
Because I stayed too long
Inside this crooked frame

I'm glad you didn't spend the night like you had promised
I'd have to stretch the truth to say that I was sorry
And now I laugh out loud at things that aren't that funny
Because I stayed too long inside this crooked frame

I could burn my clothes and I would be alright
I could burn the photographs and be alright
I could burn the postcards, I would be alright
I could smile for the first time without thinking of you

I'm glad you didn't stick to my fingers like honey
I'd have to stretch the truth to say that you were pretty
And now I laugh out loud at things that aren't quite funny
Because I stayed too long inside your crooked frame

10. Alannis Morrisette - You Oughta Know
Its every two-timed woman's anthem.

:yourock:

"I want you to know, that I'm happy for you
I wish nothing but the best for you both
An older version of me
Is she perverted like me
Would she go down on you in a theatre
Does she speak eloquently
And would she have your baby
I'm sure she'd make a really excellent mother

Cause the love that you gave that we made wasn't able
To make it enough for you to be open wide, no
And every time you speak her name
Does she know how you told me you'd hold me
Until you died, till you died
But you're still alive

And I'm here to remind you
Of the mess you left when you went away
It's not fair to deny me
Of the cross I bear that you gave to me
You, you, you oughta know

You seem very well, things look peaceful
I'm not quite as well, I thought you should know
Did you forget about me Mr. Duplicity
I hate to bug you in the middle of dinner
It was a slap in the face how quickly I was replaced
Are you thinking of me when you fuck her

Cause the love that you gave that we made wasn't able
To make it enough for you to be open wide, no
And every time you speak her name
Does she know how you told me you'd hold me
Until you died, til you died
But you're still alive

And I'm here to remind you
Of the mess you left when you went away
It's not fair to deny me
Of the cross I bear that you gave to me
You, you, you oughta know

Cause the joke that you laid on the bed that was me
And I'm not gonna fade
As soon as you close your eyes and you know it
And every time I scratch my nails down someone else's back
I hope you feel it...well can you feel it

And I'm here to remind you
Of the mess you left when you went away
It's not fair to deny me
Of the cross I bear that you gave to me
You, you, you oughta know"

11. "I Hate Everything About You" by Ugly Kid Joe.
A pretty mean-spirited song, I'll admit, but I love its unabashed, no-holds-barred, devil-may-care anger and bitterness. No dewy-eyed moping, no melancholy crooning, no woe-is-me. Just full-throttle pissed off.

35. Great pissed off song!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdsrK9brWyU

I, hate the rain and sunny weather,
And i, hate the beach and mountains too;
(and) I dont like a thing about the city, no, no
And i, i, i, hate the countryside too!

Semi-chorus
And i, hate everything about you!
... everything about you!

I, dont like a thing about your mother,
And i, hate your daddys guts too,
I, dont like a thing about your sister,
cause i, i, i, think sex is overrated too.

Chorus
And i, get sick when Im around, i, cant stand to be around,
I, hate everything about you!
Everything about you,
Everything about you,
Everything about you!

Some say I got a bad attitude,
But that dont change the way I feel about you,
And if you think this thought might bring me down,
Look again cause I aint wearin no frown!

I dont really care about your sister
Forget the little bitch cause I already kissed her

One thing that I did to your lady
I put her on the bed and she didnt even say maybe
I know you know everybody knows
The way it comes, the way its gonna go
You think its sad,
And thats too bad,
cause Im havin
A ball hatin
Every little thing about you!

Everything about you, everything about...
I, get sick when Im around
I, cant stand to be around
I, hate everything about........... you! hehe

You better think twice
About leaving me behind,
Make up your mind
About what youre gonna do
You know it aint easy
When your love huts night and day
Oh how you please
When I hear you call my name
Breathlessly I await the moment to surround you
Do not fear the song that makes you sing
It will offer you wings to fly away
But do expect to land if you cant stay
You better think twice
About leaving me behind
Make up your mind
About what youre gonna do
You take my advice
Oh woman, you got to choose
Take a little time
You got nothing more to lose
In time, you know my melody will haunt you
Your words can make it rhyme so easily
It aint no sin, when love is real
So come on and let me know just how you feel

You better think twice
About leaving me behind,
Make up your mind
About what youre gonna do
You know it aint easy
When your love huts night and day

You're breakin' my heart
You're tearin' it apart
So fuck you
All I want to do
Is have a good time
Now I'm blue
You wanna boogaloo
Run down to Tramps
Have a dance or two--ooh!
You're breaking my heart
You're tearin' it apart
But fuck you
You're breakin' my heart
You're tearin' it apart
Ooh!--ooh!--
You stepped on my ass
You're breaking my glasses too
You wanna drive my car
Buy a lot of stuff
I've had enough
Of you--ooh!
I'm goin' insane
There's no one to blame
So fuck you
You've gotta have your way
There's nothin' left to say
There's nothin' left to do--ooh!
You're breakin' my heart
You're tearin' it apart
So fuck you
You've gotta have your way
There's nothin' left to say
There's nothin' left to do--ooh!
You're breakin' my heart

Until someday you'll want me to want you
When I am strong for somebody else
And although you don't want me now, I'll get along somehow

22. If You Leave Me, Can I Come Too?
Edited on Mon May-14-07 02:18 PM by kwassa
by Mental As Anything

Words were exchanged last night
You could call it a fight
It's such a shame I never thought we would,
Wouldn't be so bad, if it weren't so good
I've had enough of that,
Other loves in days gone by.
It wasn't much I know,
Just enough, enough to make me cry

Chorus

If you leave me, can I come too?
We can always stay
But if you leave me, can I come too?
And if you go, can I come too?

Don't let it happen again
'cause that I couldn't take, once was quite enough
It's easy to forgive, harder to forget

90. Not really pissed-off, though
You ask me to read this letter
That you wrote the night before
And you really should know better
Now she's worth a whole lot more

chorus:
Brother, you know you can't run away and hide
Is it you don't want to see her cries, is that why
You won't go and say goodbye
Then you said the fault was yours
When you really were to blame
'Twas as if to close the doors
And to hide away in shame

chorus
Yes, and why, tell me why
Can't you see that it's not right
It's a lie, it's a lie
Don't hide your sorrow in the night

chorus

And you know the pain is double
But for her it's even worse
You must face her with the trouble
'Though it's hurting like a curse

chorus

Brother, you know you can't run away and hide
Is it you don't want to see her cries, is that why
You won't go and say
Gonna go and say, gonna go and say goodbye

draft papers to nam and could not find a way to say good bye to the girl he loved.

so yes, technically you are right but, when i am in the hurtin' pissed off mood this one seems to help so it came to my mind...

91. I love that song. "Bring back my AmEx card!"
She packed up her bags and she took off down the road
Left me here stranded with the bills she owed
She gave me a false address
Took off with my american express
Sunspot baby
She sure had me way outguessed

She left me here stranded like a dog out in the yard
Charged up a fortune on my credit card
She used my address and my name
Man that was sure unkind
Sunspot baby
She sure has a real good time

I looked in miami
I looked in negril
The closest I came was a month old bill
I checked the bahamas and they said she was gone
I cant understand why she did me so wrong

But she packed up her bags
And she took off down the road
Said she was going to visit sister flo
She used my address and my name
And man that was sure unkind
Sunspot baby
Im gonna catch up sometime
Sure had a real good time

30. Cold Shot
Was done by Stevie Ray Vaughan.

That relationship was swirling down the proverbial shitter and I knew it. Couldn't stop it from happening and wasn't really sure I wanted to.

"Cold Shot"

Once was a sweet thing, baby
Held that love in our hands
But now I reach to kiss your lips
It just don't mean a thing

And that's a cold shot, baby
Yeah that's a drag
A cold shot, babe
I've let our love go bad

Remember the way that you loved me
Do anything I say
Now I see you out somewhere
You won't give me the time of day

And that's a cold shot, girl
Yeah that's a drag
That's a cold shot, babe
We've let our love go bad

I really meant I was sorry
For ever causing you pain
You showed your appreciation
By walking out anyway

And that's a cold shot, baby
Yeah that's a drag
That's a cold shot, babe
We've let our love go bad

So sad...
Too bad...
So sad...

Don't let our true love run cold

Still one of my favorite songs.

Laura

32. "It's Different For Girls," Joe Jackson
What the hell is wrong with you tonight?
I can't seem to say or do the right thing
Wanted to be sure you're feeling right
Wanted to be sure we want the same thing

She said - I can't believe it
You can't - possibly mean it
Don't we - all want the same thing
Don't we
Well who said anything about love
No not love she said
Don't you know that it's different for girls
Don't give me love
No not love she said
Don't you know that it's different for girls
You're all the same

Mama always told me, save yourself
Take a little time and find the right girl
Then again don't end up on the shelf
Logical advice gets you in a whirl

I know - a lot of things that
You don't - you wanna hear some
She said - just give me something
Anything
Well give me all you got but not love
No not love she said
Don't you know that it's different for girls
You're all the same

33. good bye baby~van morrison
Goodbye baby, so long girl.
I know you ain't gonna like it,
But I'm stepping right out in your world
For I'm coming to your party
And I won't be able to stay,
But I'm gonna kiss you one more time, Lord,
Then I'm going away.
Goodbye baby hmm, baby goodbye hmm.

You may be lonely, yeah, you may be hurt,
Like a fool I gave you candy,
You turned around and treated me like dirt.
But still I'm gonna come to your party
And just before the break of day
I'm gonna touch you one more time, Lord,
Then I'm going away.
Sing it to me again
Goodbye baby hmm ha, baby goodbye.

Look out, what you see ?
I see a train a-coming,
A train a-coming down the long lonesome track.
I'll tell you, girl, I gotta go on home now,
But deep down in your heart
You know that someday I'm, I'm coming back
And I'm gonna look for you at your party,
'Cause all the time I know that I'll find you there
And listen, I'm gonna dance with you
One more time, oh yeah.
Sing it to me tonight now
Goodbye baby, sing it sweet baby goodbye.

Lord, you're singing so sweet tonight Goodbye baby
Goodbye baby baby baby baby goodbye
I'll see you around sometime, Lord Goodbye baby...

34. seems to me~joe walsh
Takin' my time,
Usin' my line,
Tryin' to decide what to do.
Looks my my stop,
Don't wanna get off,
Got myself hung up on you.
Seems to me,
You don't want to talk about it.
Seems to me,
You just turn your pretty head and
Walk Away
Places I've known,
Things that I'm growin',
Don't taste the same without you.
I got myself in
The worst mess I've been
And I find myself startin' ta doubt you.
Seems to me,
We talk all night, here comes the morning.
Seems to me,
You ignore just what was said and
Greet the day
seems to me,
you don't wanna talk about it.
Seems to me
You don't wanna talk about it.
Seems to me,
You just turn your pretty head and
Walk Away.
I've got to cool myself down,
Stompin' around,
Thinking some words I can't name ya.
Meet you halfway,
Got nothin' to say,
Still I don't 'spose I can blame ya.
Seems to me,
You don't wanna talk about it.
Seems to me,
You justturn your pretty head and
You just turn your pretty head and
Walk away.

Been away, haven't seen you in a while.
How've you been?
Have you changed your style and do you think
That we've grown up differently? Don't seem the same
Seems you've lost your feel for me

So let's leave it alone, 'cause we can't see eye to eye.
There ain't no good guys, there ain't no bad guys.
There's only you and me and we just disagree.
Ooo - ooo - ooohoo oh - oh - o-whoa

I'm going back to a place that's far away. How bout you?
Have you got a place to stay? Why should I care?
When I'm just trying to get along We were friends
But now it's the end of our love song...

So let's leave it alone, 'cause we can't see eye to eye.
There ain't no good guys, there ain't no bad guys.
There's only you and me and we just disagree.
Ooo - ooo - ooohoo oh - oh - o-whoa

126. Without a doubt Shame was Stabbing Westward's best tune,
That is a monster riff.

I was pretty underwhelmed by that album though, all I could think was "too bad the job of being Trent Reznor in NIN is already taken."

Nevertheless "Shame" kicks absolute ass, and I was familiar with the song before I saw the video--that puts a bit of a different take on the breakup, doesn't it?

39. walk away renee
And when I see the sign that points one way
The one we used to pass by every day

Just walk away renee
You wont see me follow you back home
The empty sidewalks on my block are not the same
Youre not to blame

From deep inside the fear that I forced aside
From deep inside the pain that I chose to hide

Just walk away renee
You wont see me follow you back home
Now as the rain beats down upon my weary eyes
For me it cries

Just walk away renee
You wont see me follow you back home
Now as the rain beats down upon my weary eyes
For me it cries

Your name and mine inside a heart upon a wall
Still find a way to haunt me, though theyre so small

Just walk away renee
You wont see me follow you back home
The empty sidewalks on my block are not the same
Youre not to blame

108. Here are the lyrics
something's on my mind
it's been for quite some time
this time i'm on to you
so where's the other face?
the face i heard before
your head trip's boring me

lets nuke the bridge we torched two thousand times before
this time we'll blast it all to hell
i've had this burning in my guts now for so long
my belly's aching now to say...

stuck down in a rut
of dislogic and smut
a side of you well hid
when it's all said and done
it's real and it's been fun
but was it all REAL fun?

lets nuke the bridge we torched two thousand times before
this time we'll blast it all to hell
i've had this burning in my guts now for so long
my belly's aching now to say..say..

you're just a fuck
i can't explain it 'cause i think you suck
im taking pride
in telling you to fuck off and die

i've had this burning in my guts now for so long
my belly's aching now to say
i've taken pleasure in the masochistic youth
so listen up cause you might miss..

you're just a fuck
i can't explain it 'cause i think you suck
im taking pride
in telling you to fuck off and die

good night

46. This one's not so pissed off: "Wasted Time" by The Eagles
I listened to this over and over when THE breakup happened, and I was afraid life was over.

As it turns out, it was just beginning:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyn31IKq0f0

Well baby, there you stand
With your little head, down in your hand
Oh, my god, you can’t believe it’s happening
Again
Your baby’s gone, and you’re all alone
And it looks like the end.

And you’re back out on the street.
And you’re tryin’ to remember.
How will you start it over?
You don’t know what became.
You don’t care much for a stranger’s touch,
But you can’t hold your man.

You never thought you’d be alone this far
Down the line
And I know what’s been on your mind
You’re afraid it’s all been wasted time

The autumn leaves have got you thinking
About the first time that you fell
You didn’t love the boy too much, no, no
You just loved the boy to well, farewell
So you live from day to day, and you dream
About tomorrow, oh.
And the hours go by like minutes
And the shadows come to stay
So you take a little something to
Make them go away
And I could have done so many things, baby
If I could only stop my mind from wondrin’ what
I left behind and from worrying ’bout this wasted time

Ooh, another love has come and gone
Ooh, and the years keep rushing on
I remember what you told me before you went out on your own:
’sometimes to keep it together, we got to leave it alone.’
So you can get on with your search, baby, and I can
Get on with mine
And maybe someday we will find , that it wasn’t really
Wasted time
Mm,hm
Oh hoo, ooh, ohh,
Ooh,ooh, mm

47. Dylan: Don't Think Twice It's Alright!
I can't believe all these posts and no one has mentioned this one. Y'all are too damn young; you think you INVENTED breakup songs!

Ain't no need in turnin' on your light, babe.
The light I never knowed
Ain't no need in turnin' on your light, babe,
I'm on the dark side of the road

...

Still I wish there was something you would do or say
To try and make me change my mind and stay
We never did too much talkin' alnyway
But don't think twice it's alright.

...

I ain't sayin' you treated me unkind
You coulda done better, but I don't mind
You just sorta wasted all my precious time
But don't think twice it's alright.

There are other verses, every one's a gem. The PERFECT breakup song, to my mind.

51. Already Gone by the Eagles
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0rFFqsO7bk

Well, i heard some people talkin' just the other day
And they said you were gonna put me on a shelf
But let me tell you i got some news for you
And you'll soon find out it's true
And then you'll have to eat your lunch all by yourself
'cause i'm already gone
And i'm feelin' strong
I will sing this vict'ry song, woo, hoo, hoo, woo, hoo, hoo

The letter that you wrote me made me stop and wonder why
But i guess you felt like you had to set things right
Just remember this, my girl, when you look up in the sky
You can see the stars and still not see the light (that's right)

And i'm already gone
And i'm feelin' strong
I will sing this vict'ry song, woo, hoo,hoo,woo, hoo,hoo

Well i know it wasn't you who held me down
Heaven knows it wasn't you who set me free
So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains
And we never even know we have the key

But me, i'm already gone
And i'm feelin' strong
I will sing this vict'ry song
'cause i'm already gone
Yes, i'm already gone
And i'm feelin' strong
I will sing this vict'ry song
'cause i'm already gone
Yes, i'm already gone
Already gone
All right, nighty-night

52. "Wish the Worst" by the Old 97's
Ye cats. It's just fecking PERFECT. Hee hee hee.

Why aren't you here? It's almost 4 am.
I finished up all of your beer, Now I'm startin' on your gin.
I went through your diary, flipped through your phone book -called all your friends.
I just wanna know where you been, I just wanna know where you been.

I pulled back your sheets, Now I'm crawlin' in your bed.
Every drink's one more defeat, And every footstep hurts my head.
I don't want excuses. I don't wanna hear that you were out with your friends.
I just wanna know where you been, I just wanna know where you been.

CHORUS
I hope you crash your momma's car.
I hope you pass out in some bar.
I hope you catch some kinda flu.
Let's say I wish the worst for you.

I hope you're happy with yourself.
I hope you found somebody else, cause I ain't askin' you again.
I just wanna know where you been, I just wanna know where you been.

Why am I here? I've got better things to do.
I could hang out on the pier, down by the Hudson, sniffin' glue.
I guess I'm a loser, but I like being miserable, swimming in sin.
I just wanna know where you been, I just wanna know where you been.

55. Amy Winehouse.....Back to Black
Amy Winehouse Back to Black Lyrics
He left no time to regret
Kept his dick wet
With his same old safe bet
Me and my head high
And my tears dry
Get on without my guy
You went back to what you knew
So far removed from all that we went through
And I tread a troubled track
My odds are stacked
I'll go back to black

We only said good-bye with words
I died a hundred times
You go back to her
And I go back to.....

I go back to us

I love you much
It's not enough
You love blow and I love puff
And life is like a pipe
And I'm a tiny penny rolling up the walls inside

< Lyrics found on http://www.metrolyrics.com >

We only said goodbye with words
I died a hundred times
You go back to her
And I go back to

We only said good-bye with words
I died a hundred times
You go back to her
And I go back to

Black, black, black, black, black, black, black,
I go back to
I go back to

We only said good-bye with words
I died a hundred times
You go back to her
And I go back to

We only said good-bye with words
I died a hundred times
You go back to her
And I go back to black

57. Goodnight, Goodnight by Hot Hot Heat
It’s not enough to hear me say you’ve won,
You only wanted me for having fun,
But now I think you’ve gone and had your way,
And left me with a pile of bills to pay,
I can’t even rewind the tape machine,
To listen to your drunken reasoning.
So here it is, your final lullaby:

So,
Good night, good night,
You’re embarrassing me,
You’re embarrassing you.
So, good night, good night,
Walk away from the door,
Walk away from my life.
So good night.

I’ve given up on social niceties,
I threw ‘em out when I threw out your keys,
Along with all your records I can’t stand.
You never even listened to any one of them.
You’re never going to drag me out again
With all the people that were never ever even your friends.
So here it is, your final lullaby:

So,
Good night, good night,
You’re embarrassing me,
You’re embarrassing you.
So, good night, good night,
Walk away from the door,
Walk away from my life.

A little bit of rain I’d say is fair,
But when it starts to thunder they all stare
This isn't goodnight, this is goodbye

*guitar break*

So,
Good night, good night,
You’re embarrassing me,
You’re embarrassing you.
So, good night, good night,
Walk away from the door,
Walk away from my life.
So,
Good night, good night,
You’re embarrassing me,
You’re embarrassing you.
So, good night, good night,
Walk away from the door,
Walk away from my life.
So good night……

59. BNL of course
Thanks That Was Fun

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwEuXkeuEk8

Im learning. Im yearning.
Im burning all your stuff,
But thats not enough.
Im thinking that Im aching:
Mistaking lust for love.

Thanks that was fun.
Dont forget, no regrets (cept maybe one)

Did I scare you when I dared you?
I stared you in the eye and told you good-bye.
You mocked me. it shocked me,
When you walked me to the bus.

Thanks that was fun.
Dont forget, no regrets (cept maybe one)
Made a deal, not to feel (god, thats dumb)

Everybody knows the deal fell through.
I was hoping I could just blame you.
When was it that I became so soft?

This sentimentality doesnt look good on me.
I thought that you would be begging to be with me.
Im the one on my knees, blubbering,
Please, let me stay.

Deflated and jaded. i hate it when you call
(which isnt at all)
Ive spoken, though broken.
Heres a token of my love.

Thanks that was fun.
Dont forget, no regrets (cept maybe one)
Made a deal, not to feel (god, that was dumb)
Dont forget, no regrets (cept maybe one)
Made a deal, not to feel.
Thanks that was fun.

63. I'll think of a reason later -country song (Lee Ann Womack)
I heard he was gonna marry some girl from Denver
Then my sister came over, had the Sunday paper with her
There was the girl on the social page
Lookin' in love and all engaged
We decided she don't take a very good picture

It may be my family's redneck nature
Rubbin' off, bringin' out unlady-like behavior
It sure ain't Christian to judge a stranger
But I don't like her
She may be a stranger who spends all winter
Bringin' the homeless blankets and dinner
A regular Nobel Peace Prize winner
But I really hate her
I'll think of a reason later

I drew horns and blacked out her tooth with a marker
Childish, yes, but she made such a thin little target
I couldn't be happier on my own
But I've got the slightest of a jealous bone
And seein' her with him tends to enlarge it

It may be my family's redneck nature
Rubbin' off, bringin' out unlady-like behavior
It sure ain't Christian to judge a stranger
But I don't like her
She may be a stranger who spends all winter
Bringin' the homeless blankets and dinner
A regular Nobel Peace Prize winner
But I really hate her
I'll think of a reason later

Inside her head may lay all the answers
For curin' diseases from baldness to cancer
Salt of the earth and a real good dancer
But I really hate her
I'll think of a reason later

(Spoken) Well, it was just one tooth
Did I mention I don't particularly care for her?
She makes me sick...

I got a feelin' called the blues oh Lord since my baby's said goodbye
Oh I don't know what I'll do all I do is sit and cry oh Lord
That last long day she said goodbye well Lord I thought I would cry
She'll do me she'll do you she's got that kinda lovin'
Lord I love to hear her when she calls me sweet daddy
Such a beautiful dream I hate to think it all over
I've lost my heart it seems
I've grown so used to you somehow well I'm nobody's sugar daddy now
And I'm lonesome I've got the lovesick blues

Well I'm in love I'm in love with a beautiful gal that's what's the matter with me
I'm in love I'm in love with a beautiful gal but she don't care about me
Lord I tried and tried to keep her satisfied but she just wouldn't stay
So now that she is leavin' this is all that I can say
I got a feelin' called the blues...

Nobody knows I'm hurtin' and nobody cares
Nobody knows I'm yearnin' and no one's nowhere
I'm even livin' with more heartaches in my share
Nobody's cryin' for me and I got nobody to care
Well I'm not to find me someone who'd do a little somethin' for me
I'm lookin' for a gal who's kind and sweet cause I need some sympathy
I just can't feel quite sorry enough for the way I been done
I'm about to find me a good ole gal who'll want me when I come

67. Bye - Bye - Jo Dee Messina
Boy you sure look good there standin' in the doorway in the sunset light
Maybe I read you wrong thinkin' you could be my Mr. Right
I was puttin' my heart and soul on the line
Said you needed some time, just a little more time to make up your mind
Well it's been long enough
Time is up

Bye bye love, I'll catch you later
Got a lead foot down on my accelerator and the rearview mirror torn off
I ain't never lookin' back. And that's a fact.
I've tried all I can imagine
I've begged and pleaded in true lover's fashion
I've got pride, I'm takin' it for a ride
Bye bye, bye bye my baby, bye bye

Don't think all those tears are gonna hold me here like they've done before
You'll find what's left of us in a cloud of dust on highway 4
Baby what did you expect me to do
Just sit around and wait on you
Well I'm through watchin' you just skate around the truth
And I know it sounds trite
I've seen the light

Bye bye love, I'll catch you later
Got a lead foot down on my accelerator and the rearview mirror torn off
'Cause I ain't never lookin' back, and that's a fact.
I've tried all I can imagine
I've begged and pleaded in true lover's fashion
I've got pride, I'm takin' it for a ride
Bye bye, bye bye my baby, bye bye

I'd lost the game I guess
I did my best to win the part
Now I'm leavin' here with what's left of my heart.
Bye bye, I'll catch you later
Got a lead foot down on my accelerator and the rearview mirror torn off
'Cause I ain't never lookin' back.
You can count on that.
I've tried all I can imagine
I've begged and pleaded in true lover's fashion
I've got pride, I'm takin' it for a ride
Bye bye, bye bye my baby, bye bye

Bye bye
Ooh baby
Oh oh
Bye bye, bye bye my baby, bye bye

68. Foreigner: "Heart Turns to Stone"
With the most relevant line for me being "She's that kind of woman, she'll be fine on her own." And I certainly was, even though I was enraged at the creep for many years - as well as at the bimbo he married. Though I recently gained a whole new perspective on that; in retrospect I'm grateful to her for taking the crawler off my hands. She wised up a few years later and dumped him, and then he found some other sucker to take him in. I guess we should all be grateful to her now for keeping him from rampaging through the female population.

Here's a fan-made Angelina Jolie video on YouTube featuring this great song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIpzkzXH6hE

One of those songs I can sometimes play on continuous loop for hours if I'm in the right mood.

69. Lesson in Leavin' - Jo Dee Messina
Somebody's gonna give you
A lesson in leavin'
Somebody's gonna give you back
What you've been givin'
And I hope that I'm around
To watch 'em knock you down
It's like you to love 'em and leave 'em
Just like you loved me and left me
It's like you to do that sort of thing
Over and over again
You're a fool-hearted man

I hear you've been askin' about me
From some of my friends
Well, you'd better believe
I'm not goin' through that again
You're the kind of man
A woman thinks she can change
Oh, but the only thing changin'
Is my way of thinkin'
And I'm thinkin' that maybe someday

Somebody's gonna give you
A lesson in losin'
Somebody's gonna do to you
What you've been doin'
And I hope that I'm around
To watch 'em knock you down
Somebody's gonna give you
A lesson in hurtin'
Somebody's gonna leave you
With your fire burnin'
And no way to put it out
Baby, there ain't no doubt
You're a fool-hearted man

Yeah, you're the kind of man
A woman thinks she can change
But the only thing changin'
Is my way of thinkin'
And I'm thinkin' that maybe someday

Somebody's gonna give you
A lesson in leavin'
Somebody's gonna give you back
What you've been givin'
And I hope that I'm around

It's like you to love 'em and leave 'em
Just like you loved me and left me
It's like you to do that sort of thing

You're a fool-hearted man

Somebody's gonna give you

Somebody's gonna give you back

It's like you to love 'em and leave 'em
Just like you loved me and left me
It's like you to do that sort of thing
Over and over again
You're a fool-hearted man

Oh, a fool-hearted man
Oh, whoa
Oh, a fool-hearted man

74. Diamonds and Rust
Edited on Mon May-14-07 07:50 PM by rocknation
Written by Joan Baez (allegedly about Bob Dylan) and as performed by Judas Priest. Live, of course. No personal reason--it's just a perfectly terrific song about being dumped, that's all.

Well I'll be damned
Here comes your ghost again
But that's not unusual
It's just that the moon is full
And you happened to call

And here I sit
Hand on the telephone
Hearing a voice I'd known
A couple of light years ago
Heading straight for a fall

Well, we both know what memories can bring
They bring diamonds and rust
Yes, we both know what memories can bring
They bring diamonds and rust

Now I see you standing
With brown leaves falling around
And snow in your hair
Now you're smiling out the window
Of that crummy hotel
Over Washington Square
Our breath comes out white clouds
Mingles and hangs in the air
Speaking strictly for me
We both could have died then and there

Now you're telling me
You're not nostalgic
Then give me another word for it
You who are so good with words
And at keeping things vague

Because I need some of that vagueness now
It's all come back too clearly
Yes I loved you dearly
And if you're offering me diamonds and rust
I've already paid

Well, we both know what memories can bring
They bring diamonds and rust
Yes, we both know what memories can bring
They bring diamonds and rust
Diamonds, diamonds and rust
Diamonds, diamonds and rust
Diamonds, diamonds and rust
I don't want no more diamonds
Diamonds and rust

81. Promises sung by Clapton
written By richard feldman and roger linn

I don't care if you never come home,
I don't mind if you just keep on
Rowing away on a distant sea,
'Cause I don't love you and you don't love me.

You cause a commotion when you come to town;
You give 'em a smile and they melt.
Having lovers and friends is all good and fine,
But I don't like yours and you don't like mine.

La la, la la la la la.
La la, la la la la la.

I don't care what you do at night,
Oh, and I don't care how you get your delights.
I'm gonna leave you alone, I'll just let it be,
I don't love you and you don't love me.

I got a problem. Can you relate?
I got a woman calling love hate.
We made a vow we'd always be friends.
How could we know that promises end?

Bridge

I tried to love you for years upon years,
You refuse to take me for real.
It's time you saw what I want you to see,
And I'd still love you if you'd just love me.

Chorus

Can you tell me, tell me, friend, just exactly where I've been
Is that so much to ask? I'll pay you back no matter what the task
You seem really sure 'bout something I don't know,
take that load off, looks like chest's about to go.
Your wasted words already been heard, are you really God, yes or no?

Well, all day and half the night you're walkin' round lookin' such a fright.
Is it me or is it you? I'd make a wager and I'd hope you lose.
time's gone, looks like Rome is 'bout to fall,
next time take the elevator, please don't crawl.
Your wasted words so absurd, are you really Satan, yes or no?

Well, I ain't no saint and you sure as hell ain't no savior,
every other Christman I would practice good behavior.
That was then, this is now, don't ask me to be mister clean,
'cause baby, I don't know how.
Ring my phone 'bout ten more times, we will see,
find that broke down line and let it be.
Your wasted words wiill never be heard, go on home baby and watch it on TV.

Weekday soap-box speciality, you know what I'm talkin' 'bout now,
by the way, this song's for you, sincerely, me

Shock!
I got a new life
You would hardly recognize me
I'm so glad
How can a person like me care for you
Why do I bother
When you're not the one for me
Is enough enough
I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes
I saw the sign
Life is demanding without understanding
I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes
I saw the sign
No ones gonna drag you up
To get into the light where you belong
But where do you belong
Under the pale moon
For so many years Ive wondered
Who you are
How can a person like you bring me joy
Under the pale moon
Where I see a lot of stars
Is enough enough
I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes
I saw the sign
Life is demanding without understanding
I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes
I saw the sign
No ones gonna drag you up
To get into the light where you belong
But where do you belong
I saw the sign and it opened up my mind
And I am happy now
Living without you
Ive left you all alone
I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes
I saw the sign
No ones gonna drag you up
To get into the light where you belong
I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes
I saw the sign

Edited on Mon May-14-07 10:57 PM by PassingFair
La la la la.....

First time I heard this song, I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!
I had felt this way about CLUELESS boyfriends that I
should have broken up with LONG before they FIGURED
out that I was only waiting to extract REVENGE!

Here's the Harry Potter version from YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0ST96GIS88

PUDDLE OF MUDD LYRICS

"She Hates Me"

Met a girl, thought she was grand
fell in love, found out first hand
went well for a week or two
then it all came unglued

in a trapped trip I can't grip
never thought I'd be the one who'd slip
then I started to realize
I was living one big lie

She fucking hates me
trust
she fucking hates me
la la la love
I tried too hard
and she tore my feelings like I had none
and ripped them away

She was queen for about an hour
after that shit got sour
she took all I ever had
no sign of guilt
no feeling of bad, no

In a trapped trip I can't grip
never thought i'd be the one who'd slip
then I started to realize
I was living one big lie

that's my story, as you see
learned my lesson and so did she
now it's over and i'm glad
'cause i'm a fool for all i've said

la la la la la la la la la love
Trust
la la la la la la la la la love
Trust
and she tore my feelings like I had none
she fucking hates me

103. "Someday" by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Someday

(Joan Jett/Kenny Laguna/Ricky Byrd)

Someday my love you'll learn to treat me right
A wake up my love I'm gonna make you see the light
You're never satisfied until you're bringin' me down
You never give me respect but still I'm stickin' around

Someday my love I'll get to you before you can start
Someday my love I'll take your heart and I'll tear it apart

One night I know you're gonna sleep alone
An' I'll be long gone an' you'll be the one to moan
You never knew what you had when I gave you my all
You're so full of yourself but you're goin' to fall

Some day my love I'll get to you before you can start
Some day my love I'll take your heart and I'll tear it apart

Listen to me you son of a bitch
You think you're so damned smart
But I got news for you I'm gonna kick you outta my life
And when you come crawling back to me on your hands and knees on glass
I'm gonna spit in your face an' laugh at your ass

Some day my love
The things you've done will catch up to you
Some day my love
I'll take your heart and I'll tear it apart
Some day my love
I'll get to you before you can start
Some day my love
I'll take your heart and I'll rip it apart

109. you're so vain~carly simon

ttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7B7bVD_DkM4

You walked into the party like you were walking onto a yacht
Your hat strategically dipped below one eye
Your scarf it was apricot
You had one eye on the mirror as you watched yourself gavotte
And all the girls dreamed that theyd be your partner
Theyd be your partner, and...

Youre so vain, you probably think this song is about you
Youre so vain, I'll bet you think this song is about you
Don't you? don't you?

You had me several years ago when I was still quite naive
Well you said that we made such a pretty pair
And that you would never leave
But you gave away the things you loved and one of them was me
I had some dreams, they were clouds in my coffee
Clouds in my coffee, and...

I had some dreams they were clouds in my coffee
Clouds in my coffee, and...
Well I hear you went up to saratoga and your horse naturally won
Then you flew your lear jet up to nova scotia
To see the total eclipse of the sun
Well youre where you should be all the time
And when youre not youre with
Some underworld spy or the wife of a close friend
Wife of a close friend, and...

111. before he cheats~carrie underwood

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T56vLzS5i5w

Right now he's probably slow dancing with a bleached-blond tramp,
and she's probably getting frisky.
right now he's probably buying her some fruity little drink
cause she can't shoot whiskey.
right now, he's probably up behind her with a pool-stick,
showing her how to shoot a combo
and he don't know...

I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped up 4 wheel drive,
carved my name into his leather seats.
I took a louisville slugger to both head lights,
slashed a hole in all 4 tires.
maybe next time he'll think before he cheats.

right now, she's probably up singing some
white-trash version of Shania karoke..
right now, she's probably saying "I'm drunk"
and he's thinking that he's gonna lucky,
right now, he's probably dabbing on 3 dollars worth of that bathroom cologne.
and he don't know...

I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped up 4 wheel drive,
carved my name into his leather seat...
I took a louisville slugger to both head lights,
slashed a hole in all 4 tires...
maybe next time he'll think before he cheats.

I might've saved a little trouble for the next girl,
cause the next time that he cheats..
oh you know it won't be on me!
no.. not on me..

I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped up 4 wheel drive,
carved my name into his leather seat...
I took a louisville slugger to both head lights,
slashed a hole in all 4 tires...
maybe next time he'll think before he cheats.
ohh.. maybe next time he'll think.. before he cheats...

ohh... before he cheats...
ohhhh.

116. Silver Spring
You could be my silver spring
Blue-green colors flashing
I would be your only dream
Your shining over ocean crashing

Don't say that she's pretty
And did you say that she loved you
Baby I don't want to know

So I begin not to love you
Turn 'round, see me running
I say I loved you years ago
But tell myself you never loved me no

And don't say that she's pretty
And did you say that she loved you
Baby I don't want to know

Oh no

And can you tell me was it worth it
Baby I don't want to know

Time cast a spell on you
But you won't forget me
I know I could have loved you
But you would not let me

Time cast a spell on you
But you won't forget me
I know I could have loved you
But you would not let me

I follow you down 'till the sound
Of my voice will haunt you
(Give me just a chance)
You'll never get away from the sound
Of the woman who loves you
(Was I just a fool)

I follow you down 'till the sound
Of my voice will haunt you
(Give me just a chance)
You'll never get away from the sound
Of the woman who loves you
(Was I just a fool)

117. "Everybody Knows" by Leonard Cohen. Evil incarnate.
Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows that the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

Everybody knows that the boat is leaking
Everybody knows that the captain lied
Everybody got this broken feeling
Like their father or their dog just died

Everybody talking to their pockets
Everybody wants a box of chocolates
And a long stem rose
Everybody knows

Everybody knows that you love me baby
Everybody knows that you really do
Everybody knows that you've been faithful
Ah give or take a night or two
Everybody knows you've been discreet
But there were so many people you just had to meet
Without your clothes
And everybody knows

Everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

Everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

And everybody knows that it's now or never
Everybody knows that it's me or you
And everybody knows that you live forever
Ah when you've done a line or two
Everybody knows the deal is rotten
Old Black Joe's still pickin' cotton
For your ribbons and bows
And everybody knows

And everybody knows that the Plague is coming
Everybody knows that it's moving fast
Everybody knows that the naked man and woman
Are just a shining artifact of the past
Everybody knows the scene is dead
But there's gonna be a meter on your bed
That will disclose
What everybody knows

And everybody knows that you're in trouble
Everybody knows what you've been through
From the bloody cross on top of Calvary
To the beach of Malibu
Everybody knows it's coming apart
Take one last look at this Sacred Heart
Before it blows
And everybody knows

Everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

Oh everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

118. Wasted Time, the Eagles
Well baby, there you stand
With your little head, down in your hand
Oh, my God, you can't believe
It's happening again
your baby's gone, and you're all alone
and it looks like the end.

And you're back out on the street.
And you're tryin' to remember.
How will you start it over?
You don't know if you can.
You don't care much for a stranger's touch,
but you can't hold your man.

You never thought you'd be alone
this far down the line
And I know what's been on your mind
You're afraid it's all been wasted time

The autumn leaves have got you thinking
about the first time that you fell
You didn't love the boy too much, no, no
you just loved the boy too well, farewell
So you live from day to day, and you dream
about tomorrow, oh.

And the hours go by like minutes
and the shadows come to stay
So you take a little something
to make them go away
And I could have done so many things, baby
If I could only stop my mind from wonderin' what
I left behind and from worrying 'bout this wasted time

Ooh, another love has come and gone
Ooh, and the years keep rushing on
I remember what you told me
before you went out on your own:
"Sometimes to keep it together,
you got to leave it alone."

So you can get on with your search, baby,
and I can get on with mine
And maybe someday we will find,
that it wasn't really wasted time

121. Afghan Whigs - Gentleman CD
If you're not pissed, you will be after listening to this album...

********************************

Debonair
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyDCl3Hzdy4

Hear me now and don't forget
I'm not the man my actions would suggest
A little boy, I'm tied to you
I fell apart
That's what I always do

This ain't about regret
My conscience can't be found
This time I won't repent
Somebody's going down

Feel it now and don't resist
This time the anger's better than the kiss
I must admit when so inclined
I tend to lose it than confront my mind

'Cause it don't bleed and it don't breathe
It's locked its jaws and now it's swallowing
It's in our heart
It's in our head
It's in our love
Baby it's in our bed

Tonight I go to hell
For what I've done to you
This ain't about regret
It's when I tell the truth

And once again the monster speaks
Reveals its face and searches for release
A little boy is tied to you
Attracted only 'til it comes unglued

Gentlemen
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FskfUEfdMn4

Your attention, please
Now turn off the light
Your infection, please
I haven't got all night

Understand, do you understand?
Understand, I'm a gentleman

I stayed in too long
But she was the perfect fit
And we dragged it out so long this time
Started to make each other sick
But now I've got time for you
For you, you, you and me too
Well, come and get it, come and get it
'Cause I'm done

Understand, do you understand?
Understand, I'm a gentleman

I waited for the joke, it never did arrive
And words I thought I'd smoke
Let me in I'm cold
All messed up but nowhere to go
You got indecision, and indecision is my enemy
Unlock the cabinet, hey hey hey
I'll take whatever you got
Now I'm on it, now I'm on it
And you're done

I waited for the joke
It never did arrive
And words I thought I'd choke
I hardly recognize

Fountain and Fairfax
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZS0UUE_emEk

Angel, I'm sober
I got off that stuff
Just like you asked me to
Angel, come closer
So the stink of your lies
Sinks into my memory
She said baby, forever, but I don't like to be alone
So don't stay away too long
Baby, forever, well it's Tuesday now
I hear him breathing inside of her
Let me drink
Let me tie off
I'm really slobbering now
Let it stink
Let it dry up
It's impossible
How?

Angel, forever
Don't you promise me what you cannot deliver
Angel, together
I'll be waiting for you on Fountain and Fairfax

124. Molly Johnson - Long Wave Goodbye
I can't find it on youtube, but:

http://www.mollyjohnson.com/selftitled.htm

LONG WAVE GOOD-BYE
MACKINNON/JOHNSON

I made a promise to myself
that I would sooner rot in hell
than spend another moment with you
I feel that time is slipping by
and if I felt it was worth a try
then maybe baby, I would try
just one more sad sigh

I have sipped the sweetest wine
but this one tastes just past it's prime
so go take the long wave good-bye
doctor's bills are piling sky high
while I try to reason with why
I haven't taken the long wave good-bye

I had a chance weeks ago
to tell you baby to hit the road
but one look at you
with those sad brown eyes
well I hate to see a grown man cry

You've got to go on, pack your things
cause I'm cutting all your strings
and I'm waving the long wave good-bye

The train is barreling down the track
whistle's blowing your bags are packed
hurry now don't be late, cause that
would be your last mistake
hill of beans don't count for much
forget to write please don't stay in touch

cause I'm waving the long wave good-bye... good-bye
bye bye, see ya later, bye bye...
cause I'm waving the long wave good-bye

125. "The Gentle Art Of Making Enemies" by Faith No More
The words are so familiar -
All the same greats, the same mistakes
It doesnt have to be like this.

If you dont make a friend, now
One might make you -
So learn
The gentle art of making enemies

Dont look so surprised
Happy birthday...fucker
Blow that candle out,
Were gonna kick you

(dont say youre not because you are)
(dont say youre not because you are)
(history tells us that you are)
(history tells us that you are)

All you need is just one more excuse
You put up one hell of a fight
I wanna hear your very best excuse
Never felt this much alive

Your day has finally come -
So wear the hat and do the dance
And let the suit keep wearing you.

This year youll sit and take it
And you will like it -
Its the gentle art of making enemies

I deserve a reward
Cuz Im the best fuck that you ever had
And if I tighten up my hole -
You may never see the light again

(theres always an easy way out)
(theres always an easy way out)
(you need something wet in your mouth)
(you need something wet in your mouth)

Never felt this much alive

133. Lucinda Williams ~ "Come On"
:applause: YOU GO GIRL!!!

Dude, I'm so over you
You don't even have a clue
All you did was make me blue
You didn't even make me, come on!

You're so self involved
You're in some kind of fog
You're hung on on your hog
You didn't even make me, come on!

You think you're in hot demand
But you don't know where to put your hand
Let me tell you where to stand
You didn't even make me, come on!

Dude, you're so fired
Shut up, I'm not inspired
All I'm feeling now is tired
You didn't even make me, come on!

You weren't even worth it
I'm sorry I ever flirted
The effort wasn't even concerted
You didn't even make me, come on!

All you do is talk the talk
You can't back it up with your walk
You can't light my fire so fuck off
You didn't even make me, come on!

135. This may be an odd choice, but "One More Minute" by Weird Al Yankovic...
Well I heard that you're leavin'
Gonna leave me far behind
'Cause you found a brand new lover
You decided that I'm not your kind

So I pulled your name out of my Rolodex
And I tore all your pictures in two
And I burned down the malt shop where we used to go
Just because it reminds me of you

That's right you ain't gonna see me cryin'
I'm glad that you found somebody new
'Cause I'd rather spend eternity eating shards of broken glass
Than spend one more minute with you

I guess I might seem kinda bitter
You got me feeling down in the dumps
'Cause I'm stranded all alone in the gas station of love
And I have to use the self-service pumps

Oh, so honey, let me help you with that suitcase
You ain't gonna break my heart in two
'Cause I'd rather get a hundred thousand paper cuts on my face
Than spend one more minute with you

I'd rather rip out my intestines with a fork
Than watch you going out with other men
I'd rather slam my fingers in a door
Again and again and again and again and again

Oh, can't you see what I'm tryin' to say, Darlin...

I'd rather have my blood sucked out by leeches
Shove an icepick under a toenail or two
I'd rather clean every bathroom in Grand Central Station with my tongue
Than spend one more minute with you

Yes, I'd rather jump naked on a huge pile of thumbtacks
Or stick my nostrils together with crazy glue
I'd rather dive into a swimming pool filled with double-edged razor blades
Than spend one more minute with you

I'd rather rip my heart out of my ribcage with my bare hands
and then throw it on the floor and stomp on it 'till I die
Than spend one more minute with you

137. Right now it has gone to this with my situation with my wife
Hello,
Is there anybody in there
Just nod if you can hear me
Is there anyone at home
Come on now
I hear you're feeling down
I can ease your pain
And get you on your feet again
Relax
I'll need some information first
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts

There is no pain, you are receding
A distant ship smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain, you would not understand
This is not how I am
I have become comfortably numb

O.K.
Just a little pin prick
There'll be no more aaaaaaaah!
But you may feel a little sick
Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working, good
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on it's time to go.

There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone
And I have become
Comfortably numb.
