Courtney Love plans to sell Kurt Cobain's belongings

"I'm going to have a Christie's auction," Love, 42, tells AOL music Web site Spinner.com. "(My house) is like a mausoleum."

Love and Cobain wed in 1992 and had a daughter, Frances Bean, that year. Cobain committed suicide in 1994.

"My daughter doesn't need to inherit a giant ... bag full of flannel ... shirts," says Love, former frontwoman of the rock band Hole. "A sweater, a guitar and the lyrics to `(Smells Like) Teen Spirit' — that's what my daughter gets. And the rest of it we'll just ... sell."


Sounds like someone's in need of more dope money. What's the matter? Not as popular as you used to be or never were? All the royalties were mainlined in your veins? Well, it's better Kurt's memorabilia will go to fans and collectors than that skank.

I wonder if she's even been asked if she wants those things. If my mother went and just sold a bunch of my dead fathers things, I just don't know how I'd feel... it may just be a bag of flannel shirts to some, but I tell you what, I've treasured every last item I have been given that had belonged to my father and my older brother. I just hope that Frances Bean is okay with this.
