Woman Kicks 72 Year Old Man In Groin, Hits Him With Shovel Because He Didn't Give Her Beer Money

NAPLES - Authorities say a woman kicked a 72-year-old man in the groin and hit him with a shovel after he refused to give her money for beer.

An arrest report says the man was standing outside a Naples gas station on Monday when Valissa Lorraine Small approached him and asked him for money.

The man told police that when he refused, she kicked him. Police say Small then grabbed a shovel from the man’s truck. He told police she tried to hit him in the head, but he blocked it with his left hand.

After the attack, the man drove himself to the hospital. Officials say one of his fingers had been dislocated.

Police say the found Small on Tuesday and charged her with aggravated battery with great bodily harm or permanent disability and aggravated battery on a person 65 or older.
