Edited on Wed Apr-25-07 10:58 AM by Strawman
Maybe in 2000? 1997 was probably the tour for "Set the Twilight Reeling?" The Detroit show at The Fox Theater for "Ecstasy" was great.

Wish he would put out something new. I didn't really dig "The Raven" all that much. Saw him interviewed on that Matt Pifield show on HDNET recently. Doesn't sound like anything new is in the works. I know he performed "Berlin" in NYC recently. I'd love to see that.

82. Yeah. The song, "Living for the city," was a masterpiece, and it

demonstrates to all the young rappers and hip-hop artists just how you can "keep it real," without being vulgar or denigrating.

37. from "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die"
scroll down for the 70's....

http://www.rocklistmusic.co.uk/steveparker/1001albums.htm

(It's a useful list, and I plan to acquire the book. Has it's limitations and if course it omits some essental albums for me, as I am sure it does for many.)

Their greatest album came out in 72 - Exile on Main Street. The 72 tour was also argueably their very best.

49. You lucky devil
The band never sounded better than that tour. I've watched the movie "Ladies and Gentlemen, the Rolling Stones" concert film over and over again. Wish I could have been in attendance in 72, but alas I was only 11.

Hell, its goodness even spilled into the first couple of albuns of the Phil Collins Genesis:

83. Derek and the Dominos, ELP, Allman Brothers, Jethro Tull, for starters...
The list is long, only I would shorten the period from. 1979 and roll it back to about 1976. After that, music became way too commercialized and formulaic. (with the exception of a very few punk bands)
