Actually made me laugh.
I don't have a TV. Don't want one. Don't need one. But the laundry room in my complex has a TV behind what looks like bullet proof glass that blares Fux News constantly. They even have the captioning for the deaf running beneath it for those with ear plugs.
I'm pouring in my fabric softener and look up. Some solemn-faced newswoman is talking about the "recent horror" (I expect she was referring to the Virginia Tech story), but the caption read "the recent ho roar". I blinked, thinking, "But that whole Don Imus thing was so last week...". I was hooked.
Whoever does their captioning drops the ball so frequently, I wondered if they were out-sourcing the job to some country where they don't speak English. The first time they referred to Justice Alito as "Justice Alley Toe" was possibly an understandable error, but they repeated it two more times. I know it's not easy to transcribe as people are talking, but this was like watching some weird Science Fiction version of events (as if Fux isn't already out of touch with reality). By the time they described Bush's "college jewel" (collegial) relationship with the Supremes, I had to pack up and get out of there before my brain melted.
And my laundry's still in the drier.
