Poll question: What was your favorite series finale?
Since the Sopranos is closing up shop this year, I thought it would be interesting to think of series finales from the past. My favorite is from the Newhart Show (the second one) What are yours?

1. Roseanne
Even though many people hated it...I thought it was a good finale. It's my favorite show ever...I cried like a baby when it was over.

14. I don't remember the end of Roseanne though I did enjoy the show. One show that i hated to see end
was Will & Grace. I couldn't find a clip of the last show but I found this montage. Enjoy!

22. I loved W&G
but never saw the last episode. Supposedly my sister taped it for me, so it may be on one of the tapes that is in my room. I need to find it and check to see if it's still there.

2. Of those listed, I had to go with the same "Newhart" episode. Best "last joke" ever.
The final ep of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" was pretty good,
as far as final eps go.

That was the funniest, most unexpected, most inventive series finale ever. :-)

10. I had no idea Six Feet Under was off the air.
Hope it shows up in syndication, I've heard it was really good. I don't have any shows that I watch on a regular basis, except Law & Order: SVU reruns on USA. The last series finale that I watched was Everybody Loves Raymond which wasn't very good IMO. I thought that these finales that I listed all provided a fitting finale to their series. MASH didn't affect me as much as it might have because I really preferred the original version. I think MTM was really good but not as memorable as Newhart. Seinfeld was okay but it left me wanting more which, I suppose, is the first rule of comedy. I stopped watching Friends about two years before they went off the air but I know a lot of people were attached to that show.

can't remember.

I was a Newhart fan - I think the only show I missed was the finale. :-)

I'm not good about watching series on network TV - I can't stand the commercials and the pre-emptions and the weird dates for season beginnings and endings - it's too confusing. The only one I have a real commitment to is Boston Legal - and even that one I've missed a lot this season.

On edit: So it probably wasn't fair for me to participate in the poll since I haven't seen them all. :-)

12. I didn't see any of those finales, so I can't say
I was ecstatically happy when that circus of schlock and horror known as Friends finally ended ( didn't fully understand the evils of syndication), but that's not the same as enjoying the finale...

15. Blackadder Goes Forth
the last Blackadder season. It ends with all the major characters going "over the top" and charging across no-man's land, then fades from the battle scene to a picture of modern Belgium, covered in flowers. Even though every Blackadder season ended with everyone dying, the fourth season was the most poignant, imho.

23. Have to agree.
It came full-circle back to the beginning, and both Q and Picard learned a lot about themselves and each other during those 7(?) years.

Honestly, I did watch and love the show. It was what it was---cheesy nineties drama.

It's the show of my generation, imo.
