4. the way donating seems to work

If I give $5 to a campaign, over the next six months they will spend $10 on postage and letters asking for more money, and probably put me on a list so that all kinds of right wing organizations send me letters asking for money from the Cato Institute to the John Birch Society. Who knows. A $5 donation would probably end up hurting them.

i get shit from them all the time and i think it's because several years ago a co-worker, knowing how much i detest republicans, donated some money or something in my name, but i get stuff from them all the time.

it's also possible that they get my name mixed up with someone else in this town with the same name?
