6. Camp Shelby - lartest state-owned training site in the nation
Seven miles south of Hattiesburg, MS, where I teach.

According to the Global Security website:

Camp Shelby, Mississippi, the largest state owned training site in the nation, has a long history of serving the country and is considered by many as “a national treasure.” During wartime, the camp's mission is to serve as a major, independent mobilization station of the U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM). Camp Shelby Training Site is the largest reserve component training site, covering 136,000 acres, allowing up to battalion level maneuver training, Gunnery Table 8-12, excellent FA Firing Points and a wide range of support facilities. This is the normal Annual Training location for National Guard and Reserve units located in Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennesse. However, units from accross the country use its excellent assets to support a varity of missions. The 2nd BN, 114th FA conducts its gunnery and has the bulk of its combat equipment stored in the Mobilization and Annual Training Equipment Site (MATES) located there.

My ANG unit held our two week summer camps there and flew gunnery missions up at the ranges.

We had some...ahem...SWELL times at the bars and fleshpots of Gulfport and Biloxi back in the 60s.

Back in the day, there were strip bars all up and down the beach.
The whole state was "dry", so it was all against the law. The cops were well rewarded for looking the other way.
There were even full blown gambling casinos, so the current crop is nothing new. Just legal now.

The most miserable 2 months of my existence. I was there Feb-April, 1993. California kids don't adjust well to such extreme winters, especially on the lake.

(Certainly not to disparage where YOU live. I never got out and about and can only speak of my experiences while "confined" within the walls of Great Mistakes Naval Training Center.)

You Know, where the Anthrax came from....
The US Army biological weapons command.

Actually, to be fair, I've worked there and they are pretty much in the business of developing vaccines, distributing medical research grants to Universities and figuring out how to respond to bio attacks. They do a lot of Breast Cancer and HIV research, and the Republican Representatives get to tell the no necks that they upped Defense spending while they are doing medical research that benefits, well, people that the no necks do not appreciate.

52. Beale AFB
in Northern California. It had the distinction of being the home base of the SR-71 "Blackbird" spy plane.

I went to school with a lot of base kids, and many retired AF people settle down here. So far, Beale has managed to avoid being closed. But if it is, this county is in deep economic shit because there's very little other industry here, besides a struggling ag sector, and it's already one of the poorest counties in California.

...I can see the wind tunnels at NASA Ames Research Center, and the giant, black-topped hangar at Moffett Field, in Mountain View, CA.

They've shut down the wind tunnels (which I used to be able to hear inside the house, with windows and doors shut), and the Navy has all but abandoned the base (or so they say) -- but I'm still reasonably confident that this would be a prime target for some nutcase (say, Kim Jong Il) who wanted to blow a piece of the West Coast off the map -- especially with defense contractors like Lockheed-Martin, etc., all over the place.

76. I don't know. My wife is a native Marylander and she
does not know as well. I'm a transplanted Missourian and I barely know my way off the boardwalk. Maybe Andrews, Meade or Annapolis. Possibly a Coast Guard station? Maybe Uncle Dicky's bunker.

100. Pine Bush NY Air Force Black Projects And Underground Bases..tinfoil alert
Edited on Mon Jan-12-04 12:39 PM by ElsewheresDaughter
Plattsburgh AFB is located not far north of Pine Bush,
NY. The UFO phenomenon attributed to Pine Bush - actually
located between the towns of Montgomery, Pine Bush, Walden, and
Wallkill, NY - is surrounded by airstrips, two of which are under
military control: Stewart AFB at Newburgh, NY, and the Special
Operations Training Center located about 5 miles to its west. The
latter SOTC has a major landing strip on it. It is located at the
northern end of the UFO hotspot, and is a major training area for
the FBI (at least back in 1993 it was)! It is fenced and its perimeter
is camera monitored.

I flew over it in a helicopter in 1993, taking lots of pictures. A
central area contains clusters of modified trailers and an airport
hanger. No aircraft wheel marks are visible on the pure white
tarmac.

After flying over the site, I went to dinner in Newburgh with a group
that was doing a video film on the area, and guess who showed up
to check us out? A whole table full of FBI agents. They were quick
to deny that anything covert was happening at the Special Ops
location, saying that it was being used only for defensive driver
training in dangerous high speed pursuits and escapes.I am curious about what is going on there, and how much
of it relates to the Pine Bush UFO phenomenon. I have suspected
that some of what I witnessed and experienced was part of a major
mind control experiment. Question is: Whose experiment? Military
training exercises have been witnessed by locals in the public sectors
of the Wallkill River valley.
:tinfoilhat:
BTW, did you know that Whitley Streiber's alleged alien contact
experiences (Communion) mostly happened at a cabin near Wallkill,
NY. That's right, the cabin is located on the perimeter of the UFO
hotspot area, and near the Special Ops Training Center. Is this just
coincidence? Could Whitley have been part of some mind control
experiment? Could I have been?

On the west side of the Shawangunk Mountain range, located just
west of the Special Ops Training Center is a strange government
facility tucked into the side of the mountain - overlooking Ellenville,NY. It is guarded with fences, and contains numerous
government-style buildings. It can't be seen except from its
perimeter or from the air. It is literally tucked into a hole between
mountain ridges. From what I have heard, airtraffic is restricted
from flying over it (rumor). A pilot's flight map of the area might
indicate such restricted airspace. New heavy earth (underground?)
construction was witnessed there in 1997 by people investigating the
area.

I hike these mountian forests of the Catskill Mountians and have come upon many of these huge air vents in the nmiddle of the forest.
You can check out various webpages to get an idea of just how
involved someone has been for over a decade in the Wallkill River
valley (UFO hotspot). Go to http://www.monmouth.com/~bcornet/
