My "Fortress of Solitude" (dial up warning)
I've been busy for the past few late nights, trying to clean/rearrange my Fortress, and tonight...I think I finished it(more like, ran out of flippin space).

So, what do you all think? To much time on my hands, or "grow up petersond!"....:D

1. My dear petersond!
Wow, this is one awesome room you have!

It takes courage to display your hobbies...

Especially when adults aren't supposed to indulge in such things!

Good for you!

2. Its funny you should mention that, adults...
My father, who is damn near in his mid 60's....collects...get this, McDonalds happy meal toys, and legoes. You should have seen him, when McDonalds was giving away little lego packs in their happy meals. Dear old dad would buy us multiple meals a day, to collect more legoes!

He must have had about 20, five gal buckets, full of legoes...and he NEVER let us play/touch them....

...aren't there too many folks for it to be a Fortress of Solitude? It's more like a kind of Fortress of Quite a Few People. ;)

20. No, the tie fighter
was broken about 8 yrs ago, due to my younger brothers...and a majority of the figures out of their boxes, were victim of younger brothers finding my stash of boxes, and thinking its Xmas all over again...and no! you can't open them! :D

My xwing has suffered some damage too, but I got those pieces laying around somewhere...and the other wing for the tie fighter is in a box somewhere back home....(I still got stuff back home, that my parents find from time to time).

My mother in law, is working on a queen comforter though, I got soem superman material last fall, when it was on clearance...my MIL is a sewing miser...I was expecting it for Xmas, but she has been going up/down with her diabetes for a while.

Superman is a fake superhero.

Every superhero needs a real vulnerability. Kryptonite ain't even real.

But I'll grant you this - the Hulk is a weak hero, too.

I like Spiderman.

Edited on Tue Mar-13-07 06:07 PM by petersond
Vulnerable to mystic powers/magic, and can be pummeled by someone stronger, aka Doomsday.

The pummeling aspect, changes constantly though...I got one comic where a Hulk rip off name, Mammoth gives superman a tough fight...and I got a comic where Superman knocks the Juggernaut out with one punch, and knocks the Hulk out with three.

on edit:forgot to thrown in Red Sun rays/radiation, is a weakness also.

40. thanks and yeah it probably is
that big Lego AT-AT I just sold on eBay for $300 to make room for a Lightsaber in a display case. I've added a bunch of Sideshow figures along the "doll" shelves since the photos and a few more figures and a couple Force FX Lightsabers. I have a few LOTR colelctibles not in the basement including real steel Ringwriath gauntlets and leg armor.

Sadly all those 12" figures used to be sealed in mint boxes sitting on the floor. then one day the basement flooded and the all got wet :( I have since installed a sump pump.

41. I tried
buying into the Star Wars merchandise, but the ones I wanted were WAY to expensive. I was going after the 70's/80's original figures/crafts...and I can't afford much of any. Damn, just a mint storm trooper in a box I've seen upwards to 150 bucks...same with old school GI Joe's....

If I had the $, I'd own it all....:D I've been eyeballing all the current Star Wars stuff for a long time, and I've been picking/choosing what I get, I didn't care to much for the Figures from AOTC, but the ones for ROTS were pretty damn good...and it seems Lucas is always putting out reprints of the original figures too......

I saved your pics though, my brother Tom is a HUGH Star Wars fanatic, in 05 I bought roughly 40 figures for him, that he couldn't find back home in AK...he paid me back of course, but it was interesting trying to get the whole set...

The distance between #9 and #10 is greater than the distance between the rest. Please fix that.

Also, 10 and 11 are a little too far apart compared to the others. Do you need to borrow a tape measure? I have a few extras.
