3.  I adore that song
My ex's stepdad actually played Woodstock (he played tenor sax for Janis Joplin in the Cosmic Blues Band)...I hate that I missed that time in history but I have to feel that being born in the late sixties had some effect on why I am such an iconoclast...I had to have been taking all of that in somehow.

5. every now and again
when they have one of those 'classic rock' commercials on late at night "Try" or something like that by Janis will be on the album and I'll get a glimpse of him standing in the background wearing a head band and being all 'groovy'; it's so cute. :hi:

7. Joni and Janis...a wave of nostalgia....
I googled Janis, and reading the reviews of this video about her brought tears to my eyes...a younger, more engaged, more hopeful time. I'm just sorry it wasn't hopeful for Janis.

8. the man in question
that I knew said that she was an incredibly intelligent woman and didn't take shit off of anyone. He seemed to really like her although he said the music he played for her wasn't challenging to him. I have always adored Janis...she is much beloved, and I hope wherever she is she knows it.
