computer question--please help
if you are sharing a copmputer with someone...how do you lock them out from getting on your side?

5. in your start menu...
go to Settings.. then Control panel

click on User accounts... Create a new account. Holler if you need more info. :)

9. If you click on your username it will give you several options...
one of them is "change my password" or "create password" do you see that?

12. you have to set up a user name first, then left click..

11. Make your folders private

In Windows XP Home, right click on the folders you want to keep private (have to do each folder separately as far as I know), click on properties then on sharing, then check the "Make this folder private" box. Administrators will probably still have access so you'll need to make all other accounts limited through the user accounts options in the control panel.

If the other accounts have to be admins also (some programs require admin rights to run because of shoddy coding), you could always store your private documents in a passworded zip file. Just make a new compressed folder, put your files in, right click & choose add a password.

16. At least the first part
about making the folders private. Even with a passworded account, I'm pretty sure other users can access your My Documents folder unless you make it private.
