I received an email from Al Franken
It's probably a form e-mail, but it was thanks for expressing my condolences over his mother's passing recently.
Then again, who knows? Maybe he does reply to all his e-mails.
Still can't beat the one I got from Joe Conason after Wellstone's death. I wrote to thank him for a scathing piece he did about the Republicans, and he told me to "hang in there" or words to that effect.

Yay, me.

We're saving him to kick Norm Coleman's ass out in...
...in...
ugh.
2008.
Cripes. It sounds neat, you know. Al Franken for Senate. But then you realize that we don't want him to run against Mark Dayton, 'cause Dayton's a good guy, and that Norm's seat won't be up until 2008.
Oh well, maybe Normie will get caught with his pants down (literally). I hear he's quite a naughty Senator.

8. I'm with you: Al for Senate 2008!
I just moved from MN back to TX (ugh, don't ask) last September. The short time I spent in MN (3 yrs) gave me a great appreciation for Paul Wellstone and a deep rooted hatred for that snow shit.

Paul Wellstone was the first politician I ever gave money to. He was the first politician I ever volunteered for as an adult. I did all this because he was the first politician to ever send chills down my spine every time I heard him speak. He was (and in some ways, always will be) my leader.

It may sound odd for non-Minnesotans to understand, but I remember exactly where I was when I found out the plane went down. I'll never forget. He was that amazing.

6. I've heard from Conason as well
I e-mailed Joe after an appearance on "Hardball." He had a very colorful name for Chris Matthews.

Conason's book is still waiting to be read on my stack o' books.

Nothing like having a big stack o' books to read.

7. "Big Lies" was fantastic...
It seems like he never gets on these shows, because the hosts know that he'll out-debate them with half his brain on novocaine.
I love reading his columns.
By the way, what was the colorful name for Tweety? Or can't you say?
