What is up with this show, "The Simple Life,"

with Paris Hilton. Saw the last 10 minutes of this show and I have no idea what the premise is, other than to confirm these two women are spoiled brats. I'm almost embarrassed I stayed on the channel long enough to watch this crap.

I know I probably will regret asking this question!

1. I've only seen it once and while one COULD be left with that

interpretation, I actually think the show is kind of great. The girls look like the ones that don't fit and although they DO have the love of their peers where they go, it really draws a distinction between the concerns of normal everyday people versus superficial people and does it in a way which mocks neither or both.

I actually think it is well done and entertaining for the contradictions it raises.

it shows how superficial the rich are, yes, but it also demonstrates how "everyday people" WANT to engage in that same superficiality themselves and uses Paris and Nicole as the perfect foils. This week, when Paris regaled "Chops" with dreams of him modeling in L.A., he was ready to swallow it because celebrity has become its own raison d'etre in contemporary America.

It also implicity, to my eyes, exposes the insularity of the coastal bunnies and smalltown Americans, who are as willing to deride Paris and Nicole as "sluts" as "the girls" are to dreide the townsfolk for being bumpkins.

I think it's a smart, almost revolutionary show.

5. It is a great show! It is almost as funny as Gigli!

Nicole is not as completely devoid of brain or character as Paris, but they both have that horrible yellow rope hair.

The premise is that these 2 rich girls go live with a farm family in a small rural town, where they dance badly and kiss boys and don't do their chores, and get sent to all these shit jobs that they totally fuck up and giggle a lot.

It is the greatest thing the Fox channel has ever done. A seminal turning point in the history of television.

The chihuhua's name is Tinkerbell. She had to get registered. She loves her shoes. The girls got Janet a bird house for Mother's Day, charged it on the cattle auction guy's account at the feed store, because part of the show is they don't have any money or credit cards. They left their pies out and the dog ate them and they made Janet get a pedicure, which it looked like she really needed.

Paris wouldn't do it. That is one of the ways you can tell that Nicole has had a better upbringing.

The girls love each other very much and touch and cuddle a lot, but Paris said they won't kiss. They've been best friends since they were two and it would be like kissing your sister. But they made two boys that came to the kissing booth kiss.

Nicole likes pale boys who look bloodless and kiss.

Both girls are scared of bugs.

I like it because I grew up on a farm. In the wee hours of the morning when I had to do the kind of things these 2 brats complain about doing (i.e., work so you won't starve) I wanted the world to know one thing-THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS BEFORE THE BEEF IS SERVED TO YOU ON A CLEAN PLATE. Sometimes you have to stick your arm into places it wasn't meant to go but in the end (no pun) you get to eat what you stuck your arm into.

FARMING SUCKS!! If you don't believe me then ask your local farmer if there's anything you can do to help lighten his burden. (Hint: when castrating a male beasty, it is better to make a small cut and YANK the testicles off than to cut them off. The trauma will increase the swelling which limits blood loss.)

Feel free to thank me for that roast beef sandwhich you ate back in 1982.
