Anyone know of a good book donation charity?
Moving and looking to get rid of some stuff. All the books are in excellent condition, but generally not worth selling on ebay or Amazon. A lot are MBA and finance textbooks (recent). Ideally, I'm looking for someplace that would actually use the books, not just sell them off for 50 cents. Locally (DC) would be great, but I'm willing to ship to a reputable charity. Thanks!

1. I would think that you could donate them to the Goodwill
They will probably come and pick them up for you as well.

if they can't use them, they'll sell them and use the money for programs in your community.

6. I always donate everything to the library; books, video tapes, DVD's.
You name it. I knew they could make good use of them, but I hadn't thought about how they could sell them and use the money for community programs. That really rocks!

7. There is an organization that collects books for prisoners.

From what I understand, educational programs for prisoners are pretty much always facing cuts and elimination, and of course prisoners are eager to have reading material in addition to education program. So anything you could donate would probably be welcomed with open arms.

From what I understand, Foundry United Methodist Church in the District of Columbia serves as one of the drop-off points for book donations. On edit: Check the second link below and search for "Foundry" or "prisoners."

You could also check the first link below or consider just Googling for various organizations.

I haven't personally checked out this program, but I love the idea of sending a wider range of books to prisoners. I know I'd want them if I wound up behind bars.

A fun way to circulate books and make new friends at the same time.
