Does anyone know how to get rid of the DRM from itunes downloads?

I've been using itunes more lately for my music collection, and I'm worried about potentially losing a large chunk of my music collection because of DRM. For example: suppose I "authorize" three of my friends to have one of my DRM-protected songs, and then I need to get my hard drive reformated twice within, say, 18 months. After that, wouldn't I lose access to a song that I PAID FOR? DRM has essentially made it so that you are renting your song instead of owning it. However, I've heard that there are ways to rip that shit off. Does anyone know of any way to disable Apple's DRM? I don't plan on sharing any of my music on the p2p programs (those programs are full of spyware and malware, so getting stuff for free gets outweighed by costs in repairing your computer) so the fuckers at the RIAA can sleep easy. But fuck them for telling me that I'm a tenant of my own f**in' property!

1. For starters:

To deauthorize all computers associated with your account:

1. Click iTunes Store in the Source pane.
2. If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
3. Click the Account button again (your ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
4. In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.

3. I tried your directions, but I can't find a "Deauthorize All" feature

I'm wondering if that's because I have itunes 7?
