I send him the wrong file.

That contained a picture of my ex.

And now he's hurt and I'm crying :(

It happens! We all have old (and not so old) files on our computers. Hey, I have downloaded pictures of an old boyfriend from 25 years ago (it was a really intense relationship)...the pictures are of him recently...they're a reminder of what I HAVEN'T missed out on! If my hubby were to happen upon them, he might be hurt...However, during those times when I doubt where we're going, I can pull those pics up, and remind myself how lucky I am!

and that your Valentines Day has been ruined for both of you over an innocent mistake. I'm sure that advice sounded very cruel. But, unless your ex was somehow interweaved in your relationship now, then it's in your past and shouldn't affect your current relationship. Everyone has a past. If he's going to get upset about a picture, I'd think long and hard about moving clear across the country to be with him.

It sounds like you both have a lot of growing to do before getting committed. But, I don't know the whole story and I apologize if I'm offending you. I'm just trying to explain why I agreed with the other poster. I'm just someone who's made all the mistakes and can see and want to prevent others from making the same.
