Harry Shearer responded to my e-mail!!!

I wrote to him asking about the recent use of the Spinal Tap classic "Gimme Some Money" in an American Express commercial. It sounds very much like Tap, but not quite like the original. His response:

"No idea. My best guess is that it's a soundalike band. We can find out nothing about it from the people at the music publishing conglom that made this deal...."

I love those down-to-earth celebrities (and semi-celebrities) that write back to you. This is actually the second time Mr. Shearer has written back to me. The first was when I asked about a song he used on the first "Le Show" after 9/11 (the playlist had never been posted). Turned out it was his wife. :)

ive never felt the same about him since I found that out
