So what's YOUR favorite music for when you're miserable?
I'm listening to the eels right now...pretty good depressing music.
Got it from a coworker on friday, along with a bunch of other great stuff.
What kind of miserable music do you like when you're in a lousy mood?

17. I didn't go to work for a month. I didn't leave my bed for eight days straight.
I haven't hung out with anyone. If I did I'd have nothing to say.

15. Don't really like the silence either
but it doesn't stir the emotions the way music does. When I'm hurting, the last thing I need is more churn. I know I'm doing better when I can bear listening to some happier stuff. But even there, I have to be selective. Right now, it's sports radio, news, or nothing.

32. I know...
I guess I'm a masochist by listening to such sad music. Sometimes I need to just wallow in the pain I think. My mom was diagnosed with lymphoma this summer. We thought she would have her last chemo treatment but on Friday, we found out it was still there and she's having to go through more. I took her flowers on Fri night and she broke down and cried in my arms. My dad died of the same in '88. I know about feeling down.

I'm so sorry you're feeling so down and I made it worse. :(

You can always PM me if you'd like to talk. I'm here for you.

I haven't been miserable in a while. Lately I've been listening to really upbeat music...I'll have to look at my real player and jog my memory

okay, Natalie Merchant is in there, definitely. Wow, I'm really drawing a blank on this tonight, probably because when I'm 'miserable' I listen to really hard music that is upbeat and gives me a pick me up.

Here's a good one to be miserable to:

I didnt' feel like fishing for the original, this has Bollywood's Rai in it so it should be good eye candy.

47. yes!
"Be careful of my heart" is a great one. And there is one I can never find anywhere that kicks ass, it is called "Smoke and Ashes"

Tracy Chapman - Smoke and Ashes
I'd heard rumors and I'd heard talk
About the trail you'd left of broken hearts
About the sea of tears too wide to cross
But a little bad press has never scared me off
So I burned a path to figure out
How to get me some of what you got
I've got a red hot heart
If the talk is true your's is the same
And we should be together
And let our passions fan love's flame

When I looked for you I almost passed you by
You were so cool and calm I thought my friends had lied
But I thought so much reserve must make you wild inside
It was there and then that I knew I had to get some of what you got

I've got a red hot heart
If the talk is true your's is the same
And we should be together
And let our passions fan love's flame

I thought I'd won your heart when I held you hand in mine
I thought it was true love the way we complemented each other
But my right is your wrong
And when you're right then I'm left with nothing
Your light and your heat have all been spent
Leaving only smoke and ashes
Only smoke and ashes baby

I've got a red hot heart
Any your heart's as blue as the blood in your veins
I say there's fire down below
You say it's only smoke and ashes baby

I'm crying all the time
Salty stinging tears
And mourning for the past carbon-dated years
But knowing now for certain that you were always right
Because if a breeze could blow you out of my life
It's only smoke and ashes baby
Only smoke and ashes baby

I've got a red hot heart
And your heart's as blue as the blood in your veins
I say there's fire down below
You say it's only smoke and ashes baby

I was blinded by devotion
My unwavering love for you
So blinded that I thought all your lies were true
But now I know for certain since you've gone away
It was just a smoldering fire I mistook for a blaze
Only smoke and ashes baby

I've got a red hot heart
And your heart's as blue as the blood in your veins
I say there's fire down below
You say it's only smoke and ashes baby
Only smoke and ashes baby, baby ...

54. Bonnie Raitt. Especially her song about "I can't make you love
me if you don't."

When I broke up with my Grand Obsession, I made myself a tape with a lot of Bonnie's music. The first side of the tape was about the good part of the relationship. The second side was about the ending of it. I listened to it many times for awhile, cried my eyes out, and eventually was able to let go and move on.
