Any gay DUer care to admit they need a Queer Eye Makeover?
OK...I'll go first.

I used to be a hip, cool guy with hip, cool clothes when I was twenty something.

I discovered suits and business attire in my thirties.

I am approaching 40 and have almost no fun casual clothes...just business attire. I have (do not laugh) 1 pair of jeans, although I admit I have three pairs of khakis.

And the wingtips have GOT to go.

I have no "skin products" other than hand lotion to ward off the winter dry skin thing.

I suspect I'm on the verge of having my gay card revoked.

Where are the Fab Five when you need them?

1. Not gay. But I'd love their help.
I'm a woman, 53, with a very mixed up wardrobe. I've got one or two of just about everything, in several sizes. Going through my closet would be a week-long thing.

The problem is, I'm either too dressed up or not dressed up enough; and I haven't a clue what my identity is. I've been teaching college for the last four years, and before that was in another academic environment, and face it, people in academe do NOT know how to dress. The only clue I get is when my students say, "Wow, neat outfit," and then I worry that I'm trying to look too young.

So, yes, I'd love the fab five to come down and straighten out my choices.

Cut me some slack, will ya!? :-)I do own a couple nice cashmere sweaters. None of my suits are double breasted. And I do have shirts with stripes and other colors than white. And I even own cuff links. Three sets.

Actually, other than the geeky shoes, my dress and business attire is pretty nice. I've just forgotten how to look cool when I'm casual.

and while thom would not approve, i'm comfortable in my clutter.

then again, I can cook and know that jai starred in "Zanna Don't" so those areas i have covered pretty well...

How the hell was I suppose to know we're supposed to shave WITH THE GRAIN!? I learned to shave from my heterosexual father..didn't we all? Is this something we're supposed to know through osmosis?

5. My partner and I never miss an episode!
I really need a QE makeover. I've been meaning to go out and learn more about skin care products. I need to clean out my closets too. I think they have a tip line although I'm not sure what the number is.

6. Right here!
T-shirt and jeans style. And not queeny designer jeans.. cowboy-like jeans.

Messy apartment. (More my partner's fault than my own though; I try to keep it neat..)

Minimal skin products. Facial soap. That's it.

My idea of cooking is heating-up the over and removing the plastic covering from the plastic tray.

And my motorcyle is dirt-covered right now..

11. Yes, indeed...
I'm a straight woman, and I could use it. My apartment looks like the typical college student's...

8. one of my best friends
is the worst dressed gay man on the planet. His house would make the Fab 5 weep with despair. I tell him all the time that he's gonna get kicked out of the club.

12. Heavens, yes
I wear the same clothes all the time, like a uniform.

My idea of furniture is book-cases built out of 2 by 4's.

My idea of food is a rotation of the following meals:

  • spaghetti
  • tortilini
  • hamburgers
  • barbecued chicken breasts
  • barbecued porkchops
  • ham sandwiches
  • hot dogs

13. Not Gay but I could probably use QESG makeover. Maybe?
I'm a black t-shirt, black belt, black boots and jeans type. Other than work where it's business casual.

Needless to say they might think I need variety...But do I?

On the personal care side I already have that balmy stuff for the hair and the goatee is usually neatly trimmed. BTW I discovered that those goatee trimmers are pretty good for the other ares as well before I ever saw QESG...

I like my black t-shirts...I think I'll buy more.
