Farm Worker Attacked By Herd Of Pigs
<snip>

LONDON (Reuters) - A British farm worker needed hospital treatment after being attacked by a herd of pigs, Norfolk police said Sunday.

The 51-year-old man was knocked over by a sow at a Norfolk farm in eastern England, prompting the rest of the herd to attack him.

"It seems that when he fell, he was attacked by one of the sows and then the other pigs joined in," a Norfolk police spokesman told Reuters.

"He suffered bumps and bruises and a head injury though it is not considered to be life-threatening."

The police spokesman said it was the first time he had heard of a pig attack in the area -- but it was unlikely the herd would be put down.

8. i have seen some vicious pigs
a friend of mine growing up lived on a pig farm and he calls pigs the meanest animals on earth...we saw a group of pigs pushing and shoving a smaller pig into the electric fence to test if it was working or not and another time he saw a pig devour a litter of kittens...and almost every time we came over that fence they'd try to knock us down

mean motherfuckers those pigs

9. I always think about the Wizard of Oz.
There's that scene in the beginning where Dorothy falls in the pig pen and Burt Lahr jumps in and saves her, nearly having a heart attack in the process.

That scene doesn't make much sense unless you know what pigs are capable of.

12. I was thinking the same thing.
"You got to starve the pigs for a few days, then the sight of a chopped-up body will look like curry to a pisshead. You gotta shave the heads of your victims, and pull the teeth out for the sake of the piggies' digestion. You could do this afterwards, of course, but you don't want to go sievin' through pig shit, now do you? They will go through bone like butter. You need at least sixteen pigs to finish the job in one sitting, so be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm. They will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about eight minutes. That means that a single pig can consume two pounds of uncooked flesh every minute. Hence the expression, 'as greedy as a pig'."

13. Pigs can be very cantankerous critters
And they're low to the ground so when they charge, they hit you around knee level and can easily knock the legs right out from under you.

They have pretty sharp teeth and will use them and sharp little hooves. And they get LARGE.

I had a friend who raised pigs and when we needed to vaccinate piglets, my job was to hold off all the pissed off sows with an axe handle because they WOULD fuck you up. It was one of the scariest jobs I ever did and I've worked with a lot of animals.

17. I was listening to BBC News
on our local NPR affiliate today and they were talking about his herd of wild pigs. They interviewed an 80 year old woman who chased them off when they tried to attack her little chiuhuahua when they were out for a walk. She beat them with the leash to chase them off. Now I know they are mean and the wild males have dangerous tusks but I couldn't help getting a comical visual of that old lady beating these pigs to save her little dog.
