Right about now he's test-driving what might be our next car.. We have been trying to decide on which new car to buy, and this opportunity popped up. If he does not like it, we'll end up spending a bit less on a ho-hum Saturn..

We may have arrived in "Old-Fogeyville". That's what our son said when I told him about the car we might be buying..

The last "fun-jazzy" car we had was the '68 GTO , which my husband bought in 1968..

here's a pic..

and YES, I know it's not a hybrid/green/etc vehicle, but it will also not be on the road 24/7. It's gonna be our leisure/drive up the coast/comfy splurge-mobile.

We will still drive our Accord and Toyota most of the time. :P

1. Why cash?
Edited on Sun Jan-07-07 04:35 PM by Midlodemocrat
Why not a cashier's check? I wouldn't want to carry that much cash, it would totally freak me out.

edit: It is a beautiful car. Enjoy it.

4. We like cash.. and you read so many things about places not wanting to accept
cashiers checks.. I didn't want to have a problem on a Sunday when banks are closed..:)

and people are often more ready to deal when they see a big ole pile of cash

9. That is very true.
With my ADD, however, I would probably misplace it like I am constantly misplacing my debit card!

Good luck! Hope you get it!

15. Kia Amanti's are sharp cars. If things were different, I'd love to
have one. It's mnivans or SUV's for us as my DH has really bad arthritis and can't get into anything low slung.

16. This car is "higher up" than our Accord.
We LOVE the Honda, but my husband always gripes about how uncomfortable the seats are and how low down he sits..

Of course he's got a bony little butt, and I'm amply padded, so I don't notice the uncomfortable seats as much as he does :)

This new one will sit higher than we are used to ..

6. Hey, the poor little Toyota wagon's on "life-support"
don't make fun of the poor old thing:)

a tank of gas lasts me a whole month, so you can see I don;t get out much :)

7. Never carry that large of an amount in cash
It is simply not safe.

I'm sorry if this sounds preachy, but I've heard of too many things going wrong when people carry large sums of money.

14. Seeing as how the last car we bought was in 1992, it will be a while
and we're pretty much tapped out now anyway :):P
