How Much Is Too Much Time On DU?

a comment was made to me today that my time on DU is "more damaging" to my family than anything else they could imagine (and believe me, there are plenty of things I can imagine and have done that could be much more damaging to my family)

I think this is a rant of something- but I'd like to hear some feedback on how much is too much, and whatever!

but something tells me that's not what you're looking for. Or maybe you are and I'm just missing it today (but I'm missing a lot today, so it wouldn't surprise me).

I think that what constitutes 'too much' is subjective. What's too much for one person or family might not be for another. I can't really say without knowing your situation and how much time you do spend on DU but it almost sounds to me like someone might be grasping at straws...looking for excuses or something to slam you with. A 'guilt' button.

And yes, your job is to keep that guilt button intact and unpushed. Because when the guilt button gets pushed, the 'defensive' button usually does, too. And, invariably, that leads to the conclusion that the best defense is a good offense...and then, before you know it, someone's offended, hurtful words are spoken and can't be retracted no matter how many times it's tried and, well...

Take a deep breath. C'mon...breathe. In.....out.....in.....out....

This too shall pass. You'll see. Think of it as someone who's envious of a friendship. Maybe if you included whoever it is that's trying to push your buttons?

And, if not, remember that business that we heard when we were kids...don't let them win. Eventually they'll get bored and wander off in search of juicier, more interesting ways of pushing your buttons. Or maybe they'll get engrossed in something like Pogo.com games.

I am sure I spend way to much time here.
But i have friends here i just love to death.
And it's hard not to visit them.
I think once i hit 15,000 post i may slow down for awhile. And see what happens.
But as far as leaving for good..It ain't gonna happen
On a side note I have 3 sisters who are addicted to online virtual gaming W.O.W..etc it's all they do.
As life passes them by.They are locked up in front of their monitors playing games that actually do nothing for them.
