3. I saw it at the store, didn't buy it.
Next Christmas I think I'll get one and take it to the house of someone I know who has 3 young grandkids running around. Then I can see how insane the place becomes.

6. Of course - for cooking. Although the ten bar pound bar
costs the same as ten one-pound bars at Trader Joe's, so the savings for buying a ten pounder aren't there that would be there in any other store.

Usually, though, a ten pound bar will cost FAR less per pound than smaller bars, and for cooks, the ten pounder makes sense, since pieces can be broken off and the chocolate in the bar will stay good for about a year.

11. I don't know if you can - the bars I saw at Trader Joe's were $29.99.
That's pretty cheap for a ten pound bar.

I also have no idea of the quality of the chocolate - I bought a one pound bar, but haven't tried it yet.

8. Chocolate covered figs, and dates,
and bananas.

Swirls of melted chocolate in peanutbutter cookies.

Popcorn drizzled with chocolate.

:9 Yes, I think there's a use for 10 pounds of good chocolate.

9. Sure
Years ago, my daughter received a ten pound bar of chocolate for Christmas.

I used to break off chunks, melt them in the microwave, and pour over ice cream.

You can also melt chunks, pour into a muffin foil, add a spoonful of peanut butter, then top with more chocolate.

If the chocolate doesn't harden after melting, add a little parafin, like a birthday cake candle, when you melt it.

12. The quality is EXCELLENT
Or at least it is in the 1 pound version. Imported from Belgium *swoon* and no preservatives, the way nature intended. THE best chocolate I've had outside of Belgium.

1/2 oz per square, so it's easy to rationalize

24. Life sized Chocolate Mouse nt.
Hmm. Lets see if I can recall

4 lbs Belgian Chocolate Melted
18 eggs-seperated
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cup Grand Marnier
1/2 Gallon of Heavy cream

Whip cream and sugar to soft peaks, set aside. Mix egg yolks and grand marnier beat until lightly foamed. Beat the 18 egg whites until firm. Now the tricky part.

Chocolate must be melted in the largest size restaurant mixing bowl. Very quickly fold in 1/3 of the whipped creama and the grand Marnier egg mixture scraping the bottom of the bowl repeatedly. (it's important to blend these items before the chocolate sets up. Then quickly fold in the egg whites and the remaning whipped cream using strong strokes with a large nylon spatula. Refrigerate to set up and pipe into champagne flutes to serve. Makes 40 servings.

25. Alton Brown's chocolate episode
of "Good Eats" featured some ,ega-bars of chocolate that he proceeded to use for anything and everything possible.

I swear to God, I have to stop watching that show around dinner time. I always end up with these insatiable cravings and a belief that I too can make a DIY smokehouse. My wife still won't forgive me for trying to poach tilapia after watching his poaching episode...
