1. Mahogany is relatively soft for a hardwood
My wife prefers my hard rock maypole maple because it's really hard and easy to polish.

2. Beech, Ash, Oak
I'm a slower wood myself, hard and difficult to work,
gnarled and twisted, yet strong for the knitting,
and not a bad cook to boot.

I love that when i touch the wood, that it is the living flesh
of a peaceful creature, a large blade of grass that shares its body
with me long after its passing, even as if still alive.

4. I prefer darker woods, but enjoy almost anything with a natural
Luster.
