How Much Longer Will You Leave Your Holiday Decorations Up?
Or did you not even take them down from LAST YEAR?

Ya know... it used to bug the hell out of me to see houses with Holiday lights still up (especially those "chalet lights" that are supposed to look like icicles). Now... I just roll my eyes a little and grin.

P.S. That's the beauty of ONLY putting electric candles in the windows. That's the TOTAL extent of my "outdoor" decorating. It looks nice from the street... and it's EASY EASY EASY to take down and put away.

1. I took my tree down a few hours ago
but then again, it's been up since something like Nov 30. I can see outside my window again!

Cleaning on New years day is quite a cleansing experience.

6. A Couple Of Years Ago I Left My Tree Up Until Almost February...
during the process of undecorating it and taking the lights off of it, nearly 100% of the needles fell off. I mean there was NOTHING but bare branches.

Pretty pathetic!

I didn't have the NERVE to put the BARE SKELETON of a tree on the corner of the driveway for the neighbors to see... so I got my pruning shears and snipped it into pieces that would fit in a black trash bag. I completely FILLED a vacuum cleaner bag with the needles.

I would have saved myself a lot of work if I had just taken it down two weeks earlier. Oh well. At least I've got a story to talk about.

7. yup - I had LOTS of needles everywhere taking it down today
I swept and vacummed for 2 hours. Needles and those little icecyle thingies.

The tree is now sitting in the front yard. Hopefully the trash guys will pick it up tomorrow.

Mine did have a few needles left on it, tho. thanks for the story :)

8. Things come down on Sunday
So they will pick up the tree on Monday. Always leave things up until after New Year's for the holiday gestalt; when they come down depends on when the next trash pick-up is!

So I guess I'll go back to a non-holiday avatar Sunday, too...

There are lots of Russian, Polish and Ukrainian Orthodox people around here, so we have an excuse to celebrate a little longer.

14. Already down.
I usually take them down on new years day but I got mine down last weekend. The dog wouldn't leave the tree alone.
