So who is picking up this bill for all the extra security for last night

I was watching 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' last night and one of the episodes was called "The Terrorist Attack". Wanda Sykes tells the Davids that there is a 90% chance that terrorists were going to attack Los Angeles and Larry isn't to tell anyone. But he tells someone who is notorious big mouth and soon everyone is mad at Larry David for him not warning him.

Thing is - there was no terrorist attack.

I felt like we were living that episode of CYE these past couple of days. Seriously, like any of us actually believed an attack was coming

2. The short answer is...
...the taxpayers, of course. It's just a matter of whether it's done at the local, state or federal level.

5. That most generous of all entities, ...
"The American Taxpayers".

At least we don't have to pay for the clean up of the foretold massacre of the citizens of this great nation. As usual, with these ridiculous alerts, there was no attack. There was never going to be one.

But we did lose a half million acres of the Tongass Forest, (and perhaps 1 1/2 million more to build the roads to get to the trees they want.

We also lost more Freedom with the passing of most of Patriot II.

But, like I say, at least we don't have to pay for the "carnage" we were told was coming.

7. LA paid for it, compliments of the new groper gov'ner
It was a show to build up suspense for the groper. He has to set the place up for the asshole in the 2004 election. This was just a warmup.

8. The other night I was chatting with a man
who's from France, currently living and working here. We of course discussed the idiocy of George W Bush and he affirmed that basically everyone in France hates him. He then said then when he goes out to lunch with American co-workers he'll sometimes pick up the check saying, "You have a war to pay for."
