What the hell is dryer lint?
A) Particles of your dried clothing? Since my favorite "Kent State" T-shirt still "lints" but isn't threadbare after 30 years, how could this be?

B) Dust & dirt? I could wear my clothes in a hermetically sealed biohazard room and they'd still lint, so how could this be?

C) A byproduct coming from the dryer? If so, where does it keep coming from? Aliens sneak in at night to add lint refills?

D) Byproducts from your body, like dead skin? If so, why does lint always have that sickly purplish hue? Even on the worst of days, my skin never looks like that.

Inquiring minds really want to know.

6. Haaaa. You are funny, but Jewish?
I don't get it. I thought it was Catholics that gave up stuff for Lent. Although, my friends only gave up wussy stuff, like cokes or chocolate. No one i knew gave up anything really big, like swearing or screwing their girlfriend or boyfriend.

I like the Lenten sacrifices when they are taken seriously, though.

5. Excess
belly button lint, and the jam btwn your toes. Sheds and flocks off onto your clothes, re-attaches onto your clothes in the wash/spin, but ultimately released in the dryer and picked up in the filter.

hope this settles your mind. It's your stuffing, cleaned and dried for your perusal.

:)

14. It isn't necessarily bluish-purple
If you put a lot of red stuff in the dryer, you can get pink lint. But I never have managed to produce green lint.

15. But...
When I put all-white clothes in, the lint is always sick purple. Is it just me? WTF?

This is what's kept me awake at nights for 35 years trying to figure out the origins of lint.
