So "the office" sells Staples shredders *on* the show? And now 30 Rock follows up with a skit about product placement on the show talking about monetizing tv and then talking about how great GE is (GE is the channels parent company)??

That is so absurd I'm not sure whether to laugh or scream. Why not just skip the shows and just create the commercial channel and they can just show commercials all day. That's what they really want.

But then again, I generally don't find anything disturbing about commercialism when the product involved isn't inherently harmful and/or morally wrong.
