Guns N Roses cancels show over booze law

LEWISTON, Maine (AP) -- Guns N' Roses canceled a performance in Portland, Maine this week after being told by state officials that the band could not drink on stage.

Inspectors from the state fire marshal's office gave the band the no-drinking order when they came to look over the pyrotechnics planned for Monday's scheduled concert at the Cumberland County Civic Center, said Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Public Safety Department.

McCausland said the band had wanted to drink beer, wine and Jagermeister while performing. A couple of hours after being told that would violate state law, Guns N' Roses canceled its concert, he said.

After the cancellation, a band spokesperson blamed fire marshals for "making it impossible for the band to perform their show to the usual high standards that their fans deserve."

3. And their audience has to be TOTALLY shitfaced to like it
Of course the band has to be trashed - you can't be talentless posers with delusions of competence without being drunk off your asses to ease the pain that you know you are a clueless, talentless, useless bunch of fuckwits who sold their integrity for a dollar.

when the truest admission that you have to get totally shitfaced to like a band's music, is when the BAND has to get totally shitfaced to like it.

Doesn't Axl know that it's been approximately 15 years since anyone cared enough about GNR to put up with his bullshit?

25. I WONDERED why they cancelled that show.
People on the radio were P-I-S-S-E-D.

I say, that's what you get for trying to see a bunch of rockers in concert.

28. A true story about Axl Rose (and his utter dickheadedness):
An old college friend of mine is from Malibu. Her best friend while growing up lived in a house with her parents, next door to Axl Rose. Apparently he would allow (if not encourage, which wouldn't surprise me either) his dog to repeatedly relieve itself on her friend's lawn.

So, her mom placed a phone call to Mr. Rose's address, gently asking if he could walk his dog or have it go elsewhere for its excretory needs, as she undoubtedly didn't appreciate replacing dead plants and cleaning fecal matter off the front lawn.

Axl replied, in his usual high-pitched shriek, "Fuck you, bitch! I'm gonna kill you!"

And his dreadlock-long-haired-toupee-thing is absolutely....dreadful.

GNR used to be awesome, but it was despite Axl Rose, not because of him. Since Slash, Izzy and everyone else left, it's become the "Axl Rose band", essentially. And who wants to see that?

No surprise these losers need to get shitfaced while performing - a bunch of no-talent ass-carrots if there ever were any.

29. Aw geez. It's a given that rockers would be drinking, if they are NOT, now THAT would be a suprise.
It's the town's right to decide on the laws. It's the band's right to decide how to perform.
Don't want to hear anyone from the town complaining. Why would they be suprised? Of course one would wish them to be more professional, but that wouldn't be rock 'n roll.
