Man! This is one crazy-ass day so far.

It's only just lunchtime for me, but boy howdy! Have things been screwed up so far today. As if the national news wasn't bad enough, what with the plane crash in NY and all the scurrying and speculation that goes with it, it's been weird around here, too. The Tacoma Housing Authority is in the same building as the clinic where I work. Well, they offered a free seminar this morning for everyone looking to apply for public housing. And they forgot to tell us in the clinic. So I get to work and there are scores and scores of cars in the parking lot half an hour before the building opens. They are double, triple and even quadruple parked. They are parked in the handicapped spaces reserved for our patients; they are parked in the regular spaces, parked in the employee spaces, and then lined up down the block. Getting in to open up the clinic was a madhouse. Then as if to prove the madhouse analogy, right before lunch we had this woman come in for an appointment who is obviously ka-wacka-wacka. She upbraids the front-desk girl for wearing a low-cut blouse and then starts yelling and screaming about was a dirty place it is and that whores work here. Took about three of us back-office people PLUS the doctor to get her calmed down. He agreed to see her today, but is getting launched by the doctor for inapporpriate behavior.

Man, can't wait 'til this day is over.
