Mostly music I guess:
Happy Birthday to Daryl Hall (57) of the duo of Hall and Oates.
OK, am I the only one here who thinks of these two guys when the names Hall and Oates comes up?
1999, George Michael refused to let BBC TV screen footage of his appearance at the 'Netaid' concert because he was not happy with his performance. I did manage to obtain a rare shot from outside the venue where Mr. Michael performed.
1969 - Bluesman Muddy Waters is seriously injured and three other people killed in a car crash near Chicago. Although a tragic event, it gave Muddy opportunity to write at least four more Led Zeppelin albums.
1975 - "Saturday Night Live" is broadcast for the first time with George Carlin as the guest host. The musical guests on the first show were Janis Ian and Billy Preston. After the next week's airing, it is recorded that a Billy Jones of Clearwater, Florida is the first person to *ever* comment, "SNL should just stick a fork in it. They are done. It used to be funny, but I haven't laughed at them since the original cast".
1991 - Televangelist Jimmy Swaggart seen soliciting a prostitute. This was just too damn funny to ignore.
15 years ago today, Redd Foxx really did clench his heart and met Elizabeth. He was on the set of his show "The Royal Family". He was 68.
1978 - Former Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious stabs girlfriend Nancy Spungeon to death in room 100 of New York's Chelsea Hotel. All I can say is that Drugs can kill. That's why I don't have a g/f.
1995 - John Bobbitt goes under the knife to increase his penis 3 inches. On the same day, O J Simpson cancels a TV appearance on Dateline. Coincidence?
1997 - Dennis Rodman returns from 2nd longest NBA suspension (11 games). A statement from the NBA was released before the suspension "Mr. Rodman was repeatedly told not to wear white after Labor day, but he refused to comply."
