Poll question: All-time Favorite Christmas Singer
Who is it that without hearing their voice, it's just not Christmas?

By "Christmas singer", I also mean someone who has a respectable body of Christmas songs in their discography. Under this criteria, one-hit wonders like the Chipmunks or Elmo & Patsy probably wouldn't count, much as I love them.

11. Amy Grant does a very nice version of this as well
That, and her three or four fairly popular Christmas albums, were what led me to put her on this list.

"Grown Up Christmas List" is actually my favorite Christmas song, and more appropriate than ever.

6. You know, as cheezy as the Carpenter's stuff is,
Karen had a fabulous voice. Very pure, very clear, and always right on pitch.

8. I wouldn't think of omitting Karen Carpenter
It was hard for me to choose between Perry Como and Karen Carpenter, but she does a version of Bach's "Ave Maria" that will bring just about anyone to tears.

7. John Prine.
If you ever get a chance to listen to his Christmas album, it'll change your attitude toward traditional holiday music. I look forward to playing it several times during the Christmas season.

13. Gene Autry
My Dad got his "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" album when he was a kid, then I inherited it when I was a kid. Now my older sister has the same one, for her little son.
