35. and bad news, too. Someone who cared about me in a way that
was totally different than the caring about parents, siblings, friends. That caring was complete and unconditional, but the most complete caring focus was on ME and our building a life together.

3. Eh...ummm..
We just...knew.
Sorry, that's not very helpful.
We DID sit around every night after work (we worked in a club together, so from 3:30 am until) often for hours until the sun came up (one day until 9:30 in the morning!) talking and talking and laughing and talking.
Then he would drive 2 hours home.
After about a month and a half of that, we moved in together.
Been that way ever since.
Everything clicked, the passion never fades, we always have something to talk about.
We fight very spiritedly, but it's that passion-because-we-love-each-other-so-much kind. Instant forgiveness.
(both fire signs).
I dunno. If I come up with any enlightening things,I'll repost. 'Fraid I haven't been much help.

*I will tell you something: he is EXACTLY what I asked for.
I sat down and made a mental list of what things i wanted and what traits I could not put up with in a partner. He fits those EXACTLY. However,be careful to make sure you are specific, but leave room for Universe to work.

4. When you know...you know.
I think this has been said, and it sounds cliche. But it was true...in my case, anyway.

5. Well I don't think there is such a thing as "THE one"
Edited on Sun Sep-24-06 01:28 PM by BarenakedLady
I feel more or less that there are oodles of (ok, maybe not oodles, just more than one) people on the planet that would make a good fit. Sometimes people get lucky and stumble across them along the way.

I don't know exactly when you know it's one of those good fits, though. I'm sure it is different for everyone.

30. I lost several bfs when I voiced that opinion.
Just as well. It's probably a good test.
I think that there are many people who are potential life partners, people who can make one's heart sing. The hard part is finding one of them.

But, I agree with your idea that there could be several that I would have been happy with... Jessica Alba, Zhao Wei, Heidi Klum, Traci Bingham, Alyssa Milano, Winona Ryder, Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry... and a few others.

Not "Get away from me you fucking bastard" or "I'll scream."
I was pretty well done from there.

8. I don't think you ever know.
I think people change over time and not always in the same way.
I don't believe "the one" exist. At least for me.
Now i do have a few unrealistic fantasys..But thats all they are.
The best you can do is find a kindred spirit work hard and hope for the best.

and couldn't. Don't get me wrong, there were plenty of temptations and such but when it came right down to it, I just didn't want to screw up a good thing. Now I have two beautiful kids by her and I know I made the right decision.

29. After two weeks I didn't hate her. In fact I still liked her a lot.
I have a very low tolerance for people in person and generally prefer my own company. My wife is just about the only person who's company I enjoy for any length of time. Of course, if your not as anti-person as I am, knowing if you found the one might not be as clear cut.

39. A few things...
she could take care of herself, was family oriented, honest, caring, and very nice...:)

The bonus was...

She felt the same way about me...and we clicked together very well...our sense of humor, intelligence, social behaviors fit hand in hand...

Plus, we lived together for over a year, and nothing changed, except our love for one another got stronger...it just felt right to me.

41. If you do not know, then you do not know.
When you know, then you will know.

It is different for every person. You will know. Make no mistake about it. If you do not know, then do not do it. When you know, it is a done deal. If you have doubts, don't do it. If your doubts are outweighed by knowing knowledge, then do it.

Sure, it might be a mistake but do not make a move unless you know it is right. In other words, when the feelings outweigh the doubts, then pounce on it.

Follow your heart. Do not let your brain screw things up, unless trust prevails.

;)
