$3.99 for a 12-oz. bottle? That used to cost $1.49.

I haven't bought honey in years - ever since I got my little one to give up on trying to drink the bear shaped bottle. She is an addict...can't keep it in the house.

Good plan. Let's coordinate the honey marketers and we'll figure sumpin' out, you 'n' me. We gotta make sure we don't get none of those killer bees, though. That would be bad.

13. That explains a lot.
The local Kroger in Owosso, Mich. carries it under the house brand.

Granted, it's a mix of US/Canadian/Brazilian, but it tastes like honey to me. There's a local apiary where we get a lot of oddball honeys. The Buckwheat is so good and so strong it makes a KILLER barbeque glaze.

That's why the honey companies have been lobbying heavily for honey exploration in Alaska.

30. Actually that's already happened, in a way: at KFC, if you ask for honey,
you get packets of "Honey Sauce," which are made with high fructose corn syrup, and little bit of honey, and artificial flavorings, etc.

14. Gotta go to Aldi's.
We have one locally, but they don't accept my Debit done as Credit Card and I don't write checks much or usually carry cash.

You know most banks charge $2+ to use their debit cards at stores, but NADA to use it in the credit mode?

16. I always use mine as a credit card, even though the stores tend
to try to steer you toward debit. For Aldi's I usually take out $50, because I know it's never more than that and then I pay cash.

19. I'm surprised it was that cheap...
"Gettin' some honey" usually sets me back $80 for dinner and wine, $20 for a movie and then a stiff bar tab on top of all that!

24. Have you ever tried to milk a bee?
I think not. First you have to round up the bees with a net, then you have to put them in tiny milking pens without hurting them or getting yourself stung, then you have to sit on a tiny three-legged stool and carefully milk the bees. Then pouring the honey from an individual bee into a bigger bucket takes forever because honey flows so slowly.

I tell you I spent some long hours on the bee farm keeping the likes of you in honey. Now when us bee wranglers finally make a few bucks you start complaining, you ingrates.

decimate the colonies. Fewer honeybees means lower production.

33. DING DING DING DING!!!!
Wish there was something they could do about that...
Honey's awful spendy when you have to buy 18-20 lbs at a time for mead-making.

I get mine at Costco, so it ain't too bad, but there's not a lot of variety in the flavor.
LOVE to make mead with some buckwheat honey...see how that turns out.

Apparently the beekeepers in southwestern apiaries are getting hazard pay. It's driving up costs.
