How I Spread Christmas Spirit

This actually happened a few years ago, but I always remember it at this time of year.

There was this store that had a stoopid system whereby you saw what was on display and then took the card for that item to a counter and they called you when it came up. It was always packed and backed up and the people who worked there were in constant frantic mode during the holiday season.

So there's a crowd of about 50 (no lie) waiting and some jerk gets to the counter and there was some kind of problem and he started audibly and loudly taking it out on the poor clerk, complete with insults, obscenities, etc. Clerk looks ready to cry. Crowd becomes quieter and quieter, and then silent, so that all you could hear was the asshole.

Don't know what got into me but I started singing "We wish you a Merry Christmas" and someone else joined in. Then another. Then another - until the whole crowd was singing. Guy looked around at all of us and walked out of the store.

It was truly cool.

And a Merry Christmas to all of you who work retail during this season.

1. reminds me of a non christmas story

i was at a movie theatre and they just tdid the loud thx test, and under my breath i said "the audience is now def" aparently not cause the whole room laughed
