| Miami Vice (the movie) questions - SPOILERS |
|
We just went out to see "Miami Vice" - I have a couple of questions, that maybe I missed in the movie.
1) They talked about an informant in the government. Was the informant ever revealed?
2) What happened to the FBI guy whose men were killed in the beginning? Was he the informant & I missed something where it was revealed?
If the FBI guy was the informant to the bad guys, where was it revealed? I saw Jamie Foxx trying to set something up via a phone call on the boat, but I don't remember what exactly became of it?

1. the source of the leak WAS revealed (FBI office in washington) when Tubbs told the FBI investigator to send out that fake 'secret' memo about the drug tip (remember Tubbs told the FBI honcho to change the date for each of the 5 offices it was sent to) the specific person behind the leak was not revealed, but since the office was we can assume the FBI would narrow down the culprit
2. the FBI guy (i should use his name--FBI Agent Fujima) was not the informant--he did have a lot of investigations that had been seriously comprimised, so in stepped crockett and tubbs

I thought they'd have revealed a character in the movie as the informant.

the opening scene is also used to illustrate just how dangerous these deep cover jobs can be....You can be as meticulous as possible, have the perfect flawless identity set up, references, disguises, etc, and all it takes is one phone call to have it end in a hail of sniper fire
