3. I've actually got a couple
The first is "Meet Your Meat" and is not for the lighthearted:

http://www.goveg.com/factoryFarming.asp

Then would be Goldfinger's "Free Me" video

http://www.petatv.com/tvpopup/Prefs.asp?video=free_me

And lastly, my absolute favorite..."Behind the Mask" by Uncagedfilms...

Probably not what you were looking for, though...

13. Sure, they qualify as films, but I can't bring myself to watch them.
I just saw one brief clip from the video against KFC and even that made me feel sick, so I know I won't be able to handle the others. But thanks for mentioning them, they certainly do qualify as films featuring animals, and people should see them.

5. I couldn't possibly choose just one...
though I voted for The Yearling, which is one of my favorite tear-jerker movies...love Gregory Peck's performance. :loveya:

All the ones you listed are great.

Other favorites of mine include:
Lassie Come Home (with a young Elizabeth Taylor)
Son of Lassie
Adventures of Milo and Otis
Finding Nemo
Because of Winn Dixie

I'll think of at least ten more after I post this...

21. For me, it HAS to be "The Incredible Journey"...
...although, objectively, I'd say "Babe" and "The Black Stallion" were much better films, "The Incredible Journey" was the first film I fell in love with (at age 7, when it first came out). It was the first time I went back to see a film more than once (three times in as many months), the first one that got me to read the original book because of it, etc., etc.

And there will be no discussion of the hideous mid-'90s remake, where they decided to have the animals talk (and call each other things like "butthead"). It was enough to leave Walt spinning in his freezer!

33. I've owned and given away so many copies
of both the book and movie.

I cant watch the movie anymore, I absolutely bawl through the entire thing, and that would let Kalie know that I actually have feelings - and I cant have her taking advantage of that!

Did I just admit that?

Also, though, I loved Free Willy and Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey, the recent one, that is. I loved Sassy and how Sally Fields played her voice in the movie. That was a highlight of the movie along with Michael J. Fox playing Chance so well too.

43. I took my niece to see Paulie...
My sister was a little tenttive about letting her go, because of the tear-jerker element. After I brought her home, my sister asked her, "So, did you cry?"

My niece replied, "No, but Aunt Brenda did."

Busted.

36. Babe 2: Pig in the City
Edited on Mon Aug-07-06 11:41 AM by Monkey see Monkey Do
It's a complete reinvention of the original, done as a Terry Gilliam meets George Orwell alone-in-a-big-city fable. It's one of the most underrated films because of idiotic marketing, despite some great critical acclaim -- Gene Siskel named it the greatest film of 1998.

I can't recommend it highly enough, although I would caution against watching it with small children as there are some pretty distressing scenes. I'd also encourage going into it knowing as little as possible about the story, but if you're curious here's a pretty good review:

Babe: Pig in the City is one of the most exhilarating and bizarrely satisfying experiences I've had in the movies all year. It's occasionally distressing, sometimes distractingly manic, but also insanely inventive and magical, and far, far stranger than its predecessor. It's one of those children's movies that pushes far beyond the boundaries of what's considered safe and acceptable -- a movie that's beautiful and confused and adamant in its mission to sow chaos, as so many kids' movies are not.
